‘It’s time to die’: Fourth-grade survivor who hid from shooter, describes terrifying massacre

A fourth-grader who survived the Texas elementary school shooting described the terrifying moment when Salvadore Ramos burst into the classroom and opened fire on his fellow classmates, killing 19 children and two adults in a harrowing and heartbreaking account.

The unnamed child, who along with four other kids escaped certain death by hiding under a cloth-covered table which may have shielded them from the gunman’s view, said, “He came in and he crouched a little bit and he said, he said, ‘It’s time to die,” according to San Antonio CBS affiliate KENS 5.

“When I heard the shooting through the door, I told my friend to hide under something so he won’t find us,” he said. “I was hiding hard. And I was telling my friend to not talk because he is going to hear us,” the outlet reported.

It was just a typical day at Robb Elementary School and students were watching a movie before lunch when the gunshots began and the teacher said to go into “lockdown mode,” only quick thinking from the nine-year-old gave him a chance to tell his story.

“When the cops came, the cop said: ‘Yell if you need help!’ And one of the persons in my class said ‘help.’ The guy overheard and he came in and shot her,” the boy said. “The cop barged into that classroom. The guy shot at the cop. And the cops started shooting,” he said, according to the outlet.

The fourth-grader remained under the table until the shooting stopped, “I just opened the curtain. And I just put my hand out,” he said. “I got out with my friend. I knew it was police. I saw the armor and the shield.”

The boy credited his teachers Irma Garcia and Eva Mireles with saving their lives, both of whom were murdered by the gunman.

“They were nice teachers,” he said. “They went in front of my classmates to help. To save them.”

According to KENS 5, “The boy said that it made him feel better hugging his family and telling them about his feelings. He spoke with a counselor and said a highlight was seeing his friend who also survived.”

“I would like to say to every kid and parent to be safe,” he said.

Authorities are still searching for answers on what would drive Ramos to walk into a classroom and open fire on young kids while despicable Democrats including President Joe Biden and Texas gubernatorial candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke seek to exploit the death of children for the sake of politics at a time when the victims have yet to be buried and loved ones are grieving.

There was little insight into Ramos’ murderous ways from his mother Adriana Reyes who insisted that her son wasn’t a violent person despite evidence to the contrary.

“My son wasn’t a violent person. I’m surprised by what he did,” she told the Daily Mail in an exclusive interview. “I had a good relationship with him. He kept to himself; he didn’t have many friends.”
