‘Shocking’ tour reveals ‘lack of transparency’ about ‘deliberate’ wide-open border policy

Commenting after a tour of the Rio Grande Valley, “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy obtained a “shocking” front-line look at the law enforcement, national security, and humanitarian, illegal immigration crisis created by the open-borders Biden administration.

“This is a very evil business; it is enriching the cartels as never before,” she declared in the disturbing report about what is occurring at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“This is just another example of how the federal government doesn’t want us to know what’s going on,” she also asserted in the video clip embedded above from “Fox & Friends First” when Border Patrol agents prevented her from interviewing several migrants.

“I’ve been shocked by the lack of transparency, and I don’t blame Border Patrol,” Campos-Duffy said, implying that it’s all by design.

That a federal judge is leaving Title 42 in place, for now, appears to have no effect on the enormous surge of migrants who continue to pour into America illegally with President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security waving them through.

According to Campos-Duffy, human-trafficking cartels, rather than authorities in the U.S. or Mexico, are in charge of the border region, which is another stark demonstration that elections have consequences.

Instead of securing the border, the non-transparent Biden administration has effectively neutered the “under duress” Border Patrol by making it entirely a process-and-release operation, she reported. Migrants are then being put on buses or planes in the middle of the night, she added, to transport them to the U.S. interior for release.

She claimed the administration has put the overwhelmed agents under what amounts to a gag order to prevent them from talking to the media about a “deliberate” wide-open border policy.

If Biden personally visited the border, “I don’t know if anything would change, because, frankly, this is the policy. This is what they want…this looks very, very organized…and the American people need to see it,” Campos-Duffy acknowledged.

During a ride-along, Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Chris Olivarez told Campos-Duffy that the Lone Star State is stepping up because the feds won’t.

“This is the federal government’s job to secure the border,” he said. “But right now, the state of Texas is having to bear this burden by providing all these state resources: troopers, National Guardsmen, putting up fencing. This is all taxpayer money. This is a state-funded operation, and it shouldn’t be that way, because it’s the federal government — this is their responsibility to safeguard the Americans, it’s to safeguard the border and secure it.”

Olivarez agreed with Campos-Duffy that the cartels are running things, and they have encouraged migrants to make the journey north because the border is wide open. “Every person that crosses that river, whether it be a child, a woman, a family, they pay a fee to that cartel…every state is now a border state because of this crisis.”

He also warned that minors are being victimized by the criminal cartel organizations and possibly after they get released into the U.S. “Where do they end up?”

During the report, Campos-Duffy spoke with two migrants from Cuba who claimed they each paid about $12,000 to human smugglers colloquially referred to as coyotes.

Uvalde, Tex., Mayor Don McLaughlin told Campos-Duffy that Border Patrol prevented local churches from bringing food and clothes to children at a migrant facility. “This is the most non-transparent government that I’ve ever seen in my life.”

“Fox & Friends First” co-host Todd Piro punctuated the discussion by contending, as alluded to above, that “it’s not just lack of transparency at the border. It’s those secret migrant flights that are landing in Westchester County, New York.”

With a cogent rhetorical question, Piro wondered “if the White House was so proud of what they were doing, wouldn’t you think they’d be a little more open about it?”

“Instead, they’re not very proud of it; they trying to hide the ball because they’re trying do something secretive,” he said.
