Middle school student worries about college chances over punishment for ‘misgendering’ a classmate

A middle school student from Wisconsin is now afraid for his future opportunities in life after being accused of sexual harassment for “misgendering” a classmate.

That’s a sentence that could only have been written in 2022 America and would have been absolutely incomprehensible to any well-adjusted American citizen only forty or fifty years ago. Alas, that’s what middle schoolers have to think about now, and it’s the unfortunate case for young Braden Rabidoux, whose mother, Rosemary Rabidoux, told Fox News she received an unsettling phone call from the principal of her son’s school the other day.

The principal told her that she could expect an email detailing sexual harassment allegations against her son.

“I immediately thought, ‘sexual harassment, that’s rape, that’s incest, that’s inappropriate touching, even grotesque language could go that far,'” she recalls. That was a sensible assumption, but the truth turned out to be otherwise.

“And when I asked [the school principal] what my son did, he said that he did not use the correct pronouns,” Rabidoux explained.

Turns out Braden is one of three sexual miscreants at the school, all of whom are facing sexual harassment charges over allegations they “misgendered” another student at their school.

“I was anxious and scared and upset because I didn’t know what was going to happen,” Braden said. “But mostly anxious for my present self and my future self because a charge like that on my record could shatter my chances at getting into a college when I grow up.”

Given that most colleges are likewise more concerned now with pronouns than with academic excellence, some would contend that might not be such a bad thing.

Braden’s mother, meanwhile, says she was not aware of the allegations and was left out of the loop by the school.

“I did not know exactly what had happened for three or four days,” she said. “It took three or four days for them to send me the complaint to even find out what it was he had done wrong.”

The students are being legally represented by Luke Berg, who is deputy counsel for the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty.

Berg calls the charges a “gross misapplication of Title IX sexual harassment charges,” adding: “[s]exual harassment covers really egregious stuff, not simply using the so-called wrong pronoun. The school’s theory seems to be that any use of a wrong pronoun is automatically punishable speech under Title IX, and if that is truly their position, that is a truly egregious First Amendment violation.”

Rabidoux, meanwhile, finds the whole situation unbearably ridiculous.

“This is middle school,” she said. “These guys are kids, they’re learning how to interact with each other, and they’ve been taught all their life to see a girl and use pronouns ‘she’ and ‘her.’ They don’t understand using plural pronouns for one student.

“Schools should be focused on education, on math and science and social studies, and not…pronouns.”

Although Berg has asked the district to dismiss the charges and to have them expunged from Braden’s record, the district is being cagey about the matter.

Brad Ebert, the superintendent for the Kiel Area School District (which includes Rabidoux’s middle school,) told the local Action 2 News that the district does not comment on student matters, and provided a statement to that effect.

“The KASD prohibits all forms of bullying and harassment in accordance with all laws,” the statement reads, “including Title IX, and will continue to support ALL students regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, sex (including transgender status, change of sex or gender identity), or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability (“Protected Classes”) in any of its student programs and activities; this is consistent with school board policy. We do not comment on any student matters.”

Translation: start applying for the local technical college, kid, because your dreams of higher education just went kaput.

  1. Too much talk and not enough real damage to these Disgusting, Malicious and Malevolent Teachers Unions, Principals, School Board members and most Teachers. Time to do more than talk. Drag them out of Class, Their Offices and stripe and Hot Tar & Feather them, then Dox them and run them out of the U.S.! It’s time to do what’s required!

  2. Why is anyone still going to college? Unless your degree is in medicine, law, or engineering, you’d be better off in a trade you’re interested in. I couldn’t find anybody, at any wage, to add on a porch with roof to my house, so I had to do it myself, by myself–and I’m nearly 70. Welders, truck drivers and others can make 6 figures a year–and you don’t have a 6-figure student debt to pay back for your ethnic studies degree, either, for which NO employer will hire you.

  3. AWEFUL AWEFUL! What the hell are they doing to our children. So wrong on many levels

  4. Fun fact: There are only two genders. What ever happened to following the science? SMH…

  5. You are innocent. There is no such thing as misgenfering. You are either a biological male or female. Freaks.

  6. Braden let me assure you that any college that holds pronoun usage as a gate way to entering their Indoctrination center is NOT worth your time

  7. Sue the school over idiocy of a nature that should be against the law itself. The principal is in the idiot category. Good grief. I am so sick of where our “values” are. Instead of teaching what children need in the world to achieve, they are BRAINWASHING THEM AGAINST OUR WILL.
