Critical Race Theory mandated in nearly 80% of top medical schools, report finds

A thorough investigation into higher education curriculum has one law professor calling for a “national alarm” over the disturbing trend that found nearly 80 percent of the top medical schools are mandating critical race theory (CRT) in some capacity.

William Jacobson, founder of the Legal Insurrection Foundation and a Cornell Law School clinical professor, utilized his resources to make apparent the reality that leftist activists continue to deny; CRT has spread throughout all levels of education. The divisive principles are especially prevalent in higher education, cropping up in close to 400 institutions nationwide, and Jacobson has made public his findings in an extensive online database available at

In a subset of the investigation, focus was cast upon medical colleges and universities to find that at least 39 of the 50 most prestigious institutions thus far added to the database have “some form of mandatory student training and coursework.”

“The national alarm should be sounding over the racialization of medical school education,” Jacobson told Fox News Digital. “The swiftness and depth to which race-focused social justice education has penetrated medical schools reflects the broader disturbing trends in higher education.”

“38 schools have offered [Ibram] Kendi and [Robin] DiAngelo materials (books, articles, talks, etc.) to their students,” the site explained and noted that in some instances, the materials were being placed into classes only recently introduced as requirements for majors or for all studies.

“Mandatory so-called ‘anti-racism’ training centers ideology, not patients, as the focus of medical education,” the professor expressed. “This is a drastic change from focusing on the individual, rather than racial or ethnic stereotypes.”

The American Medical Association (AMA) made clear last year that they would be seeking to “Expand medical school and physician education to include equity, anti-racism, structural competency, public health and social sciences, critical race theory and historical basis of disease.” Evidently, all of the medical schools included in the database are accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, a sponsor of AMA colleges.

“Almost all medical students will have attended colleges and universities awash in so-called ‘anti-racism’ social justice educational and training mandates,” Jacobson lamented. “These concepts will not be new to them, but they are attending medical school to learn about medicine and patient care, not as a refresher course on undergraduate race-focused education.”

In addition to the varied requirements for students, found that more than half of these institutions, 28, have implemented mandatory training for faculty and staff ranging from “onboarding for new employees/faculty” to “part of the application process for faculty search committees.”

Similar discriminatory hiring practices have been reported elsewhere, like at Ontario, Canada’s University of Waterloo that ruled out the hiring of straight white men in seeking an assistant science professor.

“Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion entrenched bureaucracies,” the professor explained, “promote, protect and relentlessly expand their administrative territory in medical schools” when they should be using their vast resources “to expand medical knowledge and patient care, not to enforce an ideological viewpoint.” has looked at similar trends K-12 and includes interactive maps on their website. They will be launching one soon for their medical school database as their investigation continues.
