Biden DOJ accused of ‘blatant violation of federal law’ over picketing of conservative justices’ homes

The Department of Justice and the Biden administration stayed mum as radical pro-abortion activists doxxed the six conservative Supreme Court Justices who are on the brink of overturning Roe v. Wade and protesters descended on their homes to pressure them into changing their ruling.

The New York Post is reporting that the protests outside the justices’ homes could be illegal and not protected under the First Amendment.

A federal law dealing with obstruction of justice, 18 U.S.C. 1507, contends that any protester with the intent of “interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer” that demonstrates or parades in or near a court building or residence “occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness or court officer” will face a fine or imprisonment of one year.

The law is also applicable to those who use sound trucks or similar devices “or resorts to any other demonstration in or near such building or residence.”

Former law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, Mike Davis, demanded Thursday that the Biden administration “step up” their response to growing threats and protests against Supreme Court justices. On “America Reports,” Davis contended that the administration was encouraging “obstruction of justice” and putting justices in “grave danger” with their silence.

“The Attorney General Merrick Garland needs to step up. He is a former federal judge. These justices are in danger that this opinion leaked before it was released publicly. There are people making threats against justices online and elsewhere. The attorney general needs to step up. He needs to make a very strong public denouncement of this,” he charged.

“This is obstruction of justice for people to show up at a federal judge’s home to try to influence the outcome of a pending case. It’s 18 U.S.C. 1507. Obstruction of justice. Judge Salas just had her son murdered in 2020 because some crazy showed up at her house. This is very dangerous. This is illegal. And the attorney general and the Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco need to step up today,” Davis warned.

“The FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s offices in Maryland and the Eastern District of Virginia, the Attorney General Merrick Garland, the Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, the FBI Director Chris Wray — they need to get on this. This is a dereliction of their duty. They are putting justices in grave danger,” he added.

CNN host Laura Jarrett defended the protests, stating, “For a lot of people a conversation about civility feels like it misses the mark when constitutional rights that you believe that you had for over 50 years are about to be overturned. The justices have security. So far, all the protests have seemed overwhelmingly non-violent.”

“There are plenty of protests that happen every single day in this country, around this country, at abortion clinics blocking women from getting into clinics and we don’t cover those as if there’s were four-alarm fires. Yes, there’s going to be protests in front of Kavanaugh’s house because people are angry and as long as they stay non-violent, I think for most of the people who are watching it, you can understand where they’re coming from even if you may think politically it’s not the right thing, you can understand sort of where that animated feeling is coming from,” she argued.

A radical pro-choice group called “Ruth Sent Us” doxxed the addresses of Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Cavanaugh, Clarence Thomas, and John Roberts, announcing they would be hosting a “walk-by” on May 11, outside their Virginia and Maryland homes. That led to protesters descending on their homes Sunday with the purported intent to sway the justices from overturning Roe v. Wade.
