Panicked Democrats are dialing up their rhetoric, seeking to motivate their base with fear as it becomes increasingly likely that they will lose control over Congress in this year’s crucial midterm elections, and few preach the gospel of doom better than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The socialist diva invoked the so-called “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol as she warned her constituents that a Republican takeover of the House of Representatives will set the stage for the future overturn of a presidential election, pushing the buttons of the gullible whose enthusiasm could be waning as the nation is ravaged by the disastrous fallout from President Joe Biden’s failed policies, a roaring dumpster fire that has inflicted misery on all Americans regardless of party affiliation.
On Wednesday, Ocasio-Cortez sought to strike fear into the crowd that gathered to hear her speak at a town hall in Queens where she struck a desperate tone with total control of the federal government slowly slipping away from a party that is bleeding out as a result of its “woke” agenda and an abject failure to govern that hasn’t gone unnoticed by voters.
“If we lose the House, this is no joke, January 6 was a trial run and a lot of people don’t seem to understand that,” she said.
Rep. @AOC (D-NY) at a town hall meeting:
“January 6th was a trial run, and a lot of people don’t seem to understand that … They’re going to come back … If [Republicans] take the House, then they have the votes to not authorize and legitimize the presidential election.” pic.twitter.com/tB1PL4QJ4i

“It was a trial run, and they’re going to come back and they win the House,” AOC continued, “here’s the thing, the technicality of what happened on January 6, the only reason it wasn’t worse was because Democrats had the House and they didn’t have the votes in the House.”
“If they take the House, then they have the votes to not authorize and legitimize the presidential election, whatever the results are,” she added, “and so this is very serious,”
The problem for AOC as well as other Democrats is that harping about the “insurrection” and the threat to “democracy” is only preaching to the choir with Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s vaunted Jan 6 commission failing to catch fire with the larger public which has tuned out after two lackluster prequels, the failed impeachments of former President Donald J. Trump.
With Americans having far more pressing concerns about record gas prices and raging inflation, the vindictive, politically-motivated J6 circus may not sway as many swing voters as anticipated at the time that it was concocted prior to Biden’s policies taking a meat ax to household budgets.
They really have little left other than fear as a cattle prod for their base, an ugly truth that was admitted by MSNBC’s John Heilemann who let the cat out of the bag that the purpose of the upcoming January 6 hearings will be to put Trump “in the spotlight” as a bogeyman to “make Democratic base voters scared again” in order to “scare the crap out of them” to encourage them to vote against their own economic self-interest.
On 4/5, MSNBC analyst John Heilemann explained that Democrat strategists are discussing how they can save the House by scaring "the crap" out of their voters about Trump. (The Terry McAuliffe playbook.)

The Democrats are in very serious trouble with even the party’s most loyal media allies grimly acknowledging that they will incur deep losses in November, losses that may turn out to be catastrophic if they are unable to energize their base which has been demoralized by Biden’s inability to deliver on its promises.
Earlier this week, Senator Elizabeth Warren called for immediate action from the White House and Dem congressional leaders, urging them to get cracking on advancing the progressive agenda if they hope to avoid a bloodbath in the midterms.

“Democrats win elections when we show we understand the painful economic realities facing American families and convince voters we will deliver meaningful change,” wrote the Massachusetts progressive in a New York Times essay.
Warren’s plea for Dem leaders to “over the next 200 days or so before the election to deliver meaningful improvements for working people” if they are to stave off an extinction-level event in the midterms doesn’t mesh with the hysterical fearmongering over January 6, a hill that Democrat leadership is prepared to die upon.
