If Democrats have any hope of avoiding an electoral bloodbath of epic proportions in November, President Joe Biden and the party’s congressional leaders need to deliver on the far-left agenda that progressives have noisily demanded and do it now, at least according to Senator Elizabeth Warren.
In a Monday New York Times column, the Massachusetts progressive issued a rallying cry to Democrats who she implored, “over the next 200 days or so before the election to deliver meaningful improvements for working people,” in order to overcome what she describes as Republican politicians who “peddle lies, fear and division,” an acknowledgment that “woke” ideology, cancel culture and Critical Race Theory could cost her party dearly in the critically important midterms.
“To put it bluntly: if we fail to use the months remaining before the elections to deliver on more of our agenda, Democrats are headed toward big losses in the midterms,” wrote Warren who, despite all of the hype over her presidential campaign, was drubbed in her own state’s primary in 2020.

According to Warren, “Democrats win elections when we show we understand the painful economic realities facing American families and convince voters we will deliver meaningful change,” despite those “painful economic realities” being the destruction of American household budgets as a result of Biden’s policies, including his war on the domestic fossil fuels industry that has led to record gas prices.
Of course, Warren, who has been known to have spun more than a few whoppers over her academic and political career, blamed inflation on COVID and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, a Democratic party scapegoat despite record-high gas prices that battered Americans for months before he ordered his military to invade Ukraine.
Citing a survey from a left-wing progressive think tank, she slammed domestic gas and oil producers.
“According to Data for Progress surveys, eight in 10 Americans believe Congress should pass laws to reinvigorate competition and three-quarters strongly believe that oil and gas companies should not make gobs of money off this energy crisis,” Warren wrote, a continuation of her demonizing of corporations and the wealthy that has been her bread and butter during her climb to hero status among progressives.
Senator Warren also took a shot at Nancy Pelosi, one of the richest members of Congress over her stock trades which she was pressed on following an investigation last year found that lawmakers and their staffers neglected to report their stock market activity as required, Madam Speaker opposed any suggestions that such trading should be banned.

“To start cleaning up government, members of Congress and their spouses shouldn’t be allowed to own or trade individual stocks, which the vast majority of voters support banning, according to multiple polls,” Warren said. “Whether you’re a Republican senator or the Democratic speaker of the House, it is obvious to the American people that they should not be allowed to trade individual stocks and then vote on laws that affect those companies. I have the strongest plan and the only bipartisan bill in the Senate to get it done.”
Warren also called for Biden to circumvent the legislative process through the use of executive orders, especially when it comes to canceling student loan debt, although she seemed to suggest that any such forgiveness should not be extended to white people.
“For example, by a margin of more than two-to-one, Americans support providing some student loan debt cancellation — an action the president could take entirely on his own,” Warren said.
“Doing so would lift the economic outlook for too many borrowers who still weren’t able to get a college diploma, for the millions of female borrowers who shoulder about two-thirds of all student loan debt, and for Black and Hispanic borrowers, a higher percentage of whom take on debt to attend college compared to white students, and have a harder time paying it off after school. With the stroke of a pen, the president could make massive strides to close gender and racial wealth gaps,” she wrote.
The senator’s screed may be the last gasp of the party’s progressive wing represented by Warren, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, an extremely vocal faction that has been perplexed that Biden hasn’t fully acted on their transformational agenda.
“Like many Americans, I’m frustrated by our failure to get big things done — things that are both badly needed and very popular with all Americans. While Republican politicians obstruct many efforts to improve people’s lives and many swear loyalty to the Big Lie, the urgency of the next election bears down on us,” wrote the woman who was affectionately nicknamed “Pocahontas” by former President Donald J. Trump.
