Former President Donald Trump excoriated TalkTV host Piers Morgan in a statement released Wednesday evening in connection to a “deceptively edited” trailer for “Piers Morgan Uncensored” that falsely portrayed him as being in a rage and storming out of an interview set to debut on Fox Nation on April 25.
“Piers Morgan, like the rest of the Fake News Media, attempted to unlawfully and deceptively edit his long and tedious interview with me. He wanted to make it look like I walked out on the interview when my time limit of 20 minutes went over by an hour. The good news is that the interview was taped by us as a means of keeping him honest,” Trump stated.
“The interview was actually very strong on the 2020 Election Fraud, with me calling him ‘a fool’ if he truly believed those results. The evidence is massive and irrefutable (check out Truth the Vote and the Dinesh D’Souza documentary, which will all be coming out soon). For those who want to make Piers look bad, compare his video promo and how it was doctored to the real thing. Hopefully they will now be doing some big changes to their final product. It just shows, however, what I have to deal with in the Fake News Media. He went out of his way to deceptively edit an interview and got caught. That is a big story, isn’t it?” he asked.
Trump released a seven-and-a-half-minute audio segment of their conversation proving that the interview ended amicably with both men laughing. Previously, the media played up Trump being in a rage over Morgan telling him he lost the 2020 presidential election. It was first reported by NBC News but they reportedly did not release the recording. The former president claims a member of his team released it.

The 30-second ad features explosive clips during the interview which was held at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. What is missing from the exchange in the teaser is context. The promo ends leaving the impression that Trump angrily cut the interview short and stormed off.
According to the audio, Morgan was told by one of Trump’s team that he needed to wrap up the interview multiple times.
“You’ve done ‘last question’ four times now,” Trump’s assistant told Morgan. “I feel like you’re lying at this point.”
Morgan, of course, denied that was what he was doing and said he wanted to ask Trump about his recent hole-in-one. The former president complied and the interview then ended on a friendly note with the men thanking each other. Morgan told him, “Appreciate it.”

The TalkTV host also wrote an allegedly deceptive op-ed for the New York Post Wednesday, claiming that “Trump tried to end things by declaring, ‘That’s it!’ before I reminded him that we hadn’t discussed his hole-in-one, which he then sat down again and did — briefly — before abruptly jumping to his feet, looking hateful, and barking at the shocked crew: ‘TURN THE CAMERAS OFF!’”
It also should be noted that shortly before the interview began according to the op-ed, Morgan claimed that a production assistant handed him a document listing denigrating comments the host had made about Trump over a number of years.
“This is a collection of quotes you’ve apparently said about President Trump in the past two years,” asserted the assistant. “Someone sent it to him in the last hour, and the quotes are not good. In fact, they’re really bad.”

“There were several dozen comments from me, taken from columns I’d written and interviews I’d given, in which I was savagely critical of Trump’s conduct in the last year of his presidency, from his woeful handling of the coronavirus pandemic to his refusal to accept defeat in the 2020 election, and the appalling January 6 riot at the Capitol that followed,” Morgan stated.
He proceeded to claim that he feared Trump would cancel the interview because he was “VERY upset” over Morgan’s past criticisms concerning the election and Jan. 6. The celebrity talking head claims there was an angry confrontation over Morgan’s comments but he placated the former president and the interview went on as planned.
However, Morgan’s version of events seems to be in question as Trump’s audio caught him in the act of what appears to be a wild embellishment of what actually happened.
Trump Communications Director Taylor Budowich told NBC News, “This is a pathetic attempt to use President Trump as a way to revive the career of a failed television host.”
“It is also another example of President Trump being right, as he told Piers Morgan that the host was dishonest to his face and Piers, for the first time in his life, didn’t disappoint,” Budowich added.
This prompted a reaction from Caitlyn Jenner who announced an appearance with Morgan scheduled for Wednesday was canceled “because of your repulsive misconduct.”
