Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) tweeted out her outrage and disdain on Saturday over a viral video showing Christians singing and praising the Lord on a plane, earning her mockery from many, including Republicans for what they saw as blatant anti-Christian bigotry.

The brief clip shows a smiling, happy pastor with a guitar singing Christian music on a plane as others join in and record the event. It was posted a week ago but gained attention over Easter weekend when Omar tore into it.

“I think my family and I should have a prayer session next time I am on a plane,” Omar, who is Muslim, tweeted. “How do you think it will end?”

Republicans pounced on the perceived anti-Christian bigotry voiced by Omar.

“Why do you hate Christians, Ilhan?” Vernon Jones asked, who is a black supporter of former President Donald Trump and a former Democrat that is now running to represent Georgia in the House of Representatives. “If the freedom of religion we enjoy here in America disturbs you, feel free to pack your bags and head back to Somalia, Sudan, or wherever you’re from. Take your brother with you.

“In America, Muslims can & do pray in public,” Jose Castillo, who is a Republican candidate running for Congress in Florida, tweeted. “If she wants a country where Christians aren’t allowed to do the same [Omar] should go back to her own country.”

“Qatar – a country you’re very familiar with – plays Islamic prayers on the intercom before takeoff on their planes,” Cicely Davis, who is a candidate in Minnesota, tweeted. “They have a designated prayer area & coordinates for Mecca are posted on the screens. It’s no problem. The issue is you hate Christians & Jews & lots of Muslims.”

Another candidate in Minnesota named Royce White tweeted, “I’m coming for your seat. Don’t disrespect Christianity! You’re a globalist fraud. You can’t pray in Pelosi’s office! The Democrats you serve don’t believe in God. Their platform is openly anti-God. Minneapolis will not become Mogadishu. We will not bend the knee.”

Even moderate Republican Adam Kinzinger chimed in on the incident, “I’ve been on many airlines from majority Muslim countries that play a Muslim prayer on the screen at takeoff. Never once concerned me and actually i thought it was pretty cool.”

The video’s origination is unclear. It’s being reported that it was taken by Jack Jensz Jr., who leads a group called Kingdom Realm Ministries out of Philadelphia, on a flight to Germany, according to the Daily Mail. The video was allegedly captioned, “We are taking this flight over for Jesus!”

Jensz Jr. is said to have been working on the Ukrainian border with his wife. Omar got the video from the Twitter account @davenewworld_2 but it has apparently been deleted.

Omar retweeted a response by sportswriter Chuck Modi over Republican responses to her attack, “Ilhan Omar: Makes very valid point. Right-wingers who hate Ilhan Omar: ‘You are ‘attacking Christianity’ because I am stupid or dishonest or just pandering to my bigoted base.’”
