Tucker challenges mum Biden admin on BRUTAL Shanghai lockdown: ‘Obviously not about COVID’

Fox News host Tucker Carlson laid out some unsettling facts surrounding China’s latest round of COVID lockdowns in Shanghai.

In 2020, the first mass quarantine in human history began in Wuhan, resulting in the imprisonment of 11 million people within their apartments. Those who attempted to escape their imprisonment reportedly found themselves welded inside their apartments, starving to death, Carlson told viewers of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Monday.

He relayed how the communist party of China went on to create internment camps, dragging COVID-positive citizens to vans for transport to the inhumane prisons. More people died in China from the restrictions than from the virus itself, the Fox News host noted, and the world is returning to normal as it acknowledges a failure in handling the crisis appropriately.

“The much-touted vaccines, meanwhile, provided nowhere near the protection the drug companies had promised and at the same time came with significant risks that even now have not been openly discussed. At this point, knowing all this has everybody does, countries are lifting their Coronavirus restrictions. Next will come the apologies and, in the free countries at least, lawsuits and criminal charges against people who did this.”

It should be game over for the COVID intimidation tactics, but it isn’t. In the cosmopolitan China city of Shanghai, restrictions are back and even worse than in 2020. Once again, people are locked in their apartments, and citizens are reportedly being dragged away to shoddy, inhumane prison camps. Screams from the imprisoned citizens reportedly fill the air.

“Has there ever been a clearer picture of what hell is like? Twenty-five million people imprisoned in concrete apartment blocks, screaming and slowly starving,” Carlson asked.

CNN correspondent David Culver in Shanghai reported that he was locked in his apartment.

“Late last night I heard them taping up my door, along with some of my neighbors, with a paper seal so as to keep it closed. Some of the buildings with positive cases are locked from the outside. They are using padlocks and bicycle locks just to keep people in,” he said.

In Shanghai, some 25 million people are locked inside their homes, turning the once-thriving city into the largest prison camp in human history. Meanwhile, health officials are allegedly rounding up the pets of those imprisoned and brutally killing them with horrific footage circulating the internet. Carlson pointed out that in China, that’s “COVID protection.”

“The Chinese government isn’t denying this is real and isn’t apologizing,” Carlson observed. Stores have run out of food and medicine, and trapped citizens can’t leave their homes to get necessities for their families.

Carlson questioned a government that not only isn’t decrying the current conditions in Shanghai but is embracing them, asking, “Is anyone in the Biden administration, which is constantly lecturing us about democracy and human rights, saying anything about this? Has the State Department issued an angry denunciation about this? Is the government threatening sanctions against China for building the world’s largest prison camp?”

“Well of course not.  Effectively our leaders are defending what China is doing,” he contended.

Carlson pointed out that the lockdowns have little, if anything, to do with COVID.

“Obviously this isn’t about COVID. Let’s not pretend Shanghai has a COVID crisis. Even if it did have a COVID crisis, we know this is not how to handle a COVID crisis,” he said.

This is a power grab for Chinese president Xi Jinping, who is seeking a third term in office after term limits were eliminated in 2018. Shanghai, a city that enjoys the most freedoms under the oppressive communist regime, is ground zero for a potential protest or insurrection, and a manufactured COVID crisis is the perfect cover for squashing resistance, Carlson explained.

The Fox News host asserted that the United States is taking pages right out of the Chinese playbook ahead of an upcoming election that sees the current party in charge facing insurmountable challenges. The government response is predictable; shutting down the country in 2020 worked well to influence the outcome of an election, and it will do so again in 2022.

Philadelphia, for instance, is returning to mask mandates after two COVID deaths in a week, Carlson noted, pointing out other examples. Biden is attempting to resurrect the vaccine mandate for federal workers. Masking policies were never lifted on commercial planes, and Dallas Love Field airport has employed robots with facial recognition software to check for compliance among passengers.

“We’re just beginning to see the outlines of the repression that COVID has made possible, that’s the point,” Carlson warned. “If you want a picture of what this looks like, you can look at China and shiver.”
