These days it appears there are no perceived slights small enough to go unnoticed and un-bemoaned by readily triggered leftists who evidently demand fealty to their whims, even for something as minor as what television channel is playing in a hotel gym.
On Saturday, climate activist, liberal professor, and easily peeved fitness enthusiast Professor Michael Mann of Penn State found himself dissatisfied and without remedy as he worked up a lather at a New York City Marriott hotel. Mann was in town to accept the Leo Szilard Lectureship Award from the American Physical Society when he was confronted by the irredeemable offense of one of the numerous televisions in the hotel chain’s Times Square fitness center being tuned to Fox News.
“Dear @Marriott: The Fitness center at your NYC Times Square hotel has TV fixed on “Fox News,” he wrote, “a network that promotes anti-American, pro-Russian propaganda.”

“The manager of the facility says he can’t change the channel, it is set by you,” he lamented. “This is deeply offensive.”
Yes, Professor Karen went to the manager and then, when his demands were not meant, went up the food chain to attempt a public shaming of the company that he might never be faced with the horror of a different perspective whilst running on a treadmill ever again.
However, the support group from those who’ve suffered such traumatic experiences is legion and Twitter followers jumped at the opportunity to try and shame the hospitality franchise over the slight.
Joining the dogpile was none other than Lincoln Project co-founder, Reed Galen. One might think that being linked with an organization embroiled in a child sex scandal, thanks to fellow founder and alleged groomer John Weaver, and accused of questionable financial practices, you’d stay out of fights that have nothing to do with you.
Not “Never Trumper” Galen though. This looked like a mighty fine hill to die on and he called out to Marriott demanding answers.
.@Marriott – is this the case in all your hotels? We’ll wait. https://t.co/w9VyVvFrlv

“@Marriott – is this the case in all your hotels?” he asked, “We’ll wait.”
Journalist Glenn Greenwald took the chance to go after the original post by Mann, but his comments are readily applied to knocking Galen off his high horse as well.
“It’s not news that establishment American liberalism and a good chunk of their junior varsity left-wing vassals have adopted McCarthyite rhetoric for all their political opponents. Leave aside @MichaelEMann’s ‘pro-Russia’ cliché. How is Fox ‘anti-American’?” Greenwald asked, “They criticize Biden?”
He went on to write, “Also, one must have a pretty huge amount of free time on their hands and a barren life bereft of anything interesting or weighty to spend this much time and energy launching a multi-pronged crusade because your hotel fitness center shows a channel you don’t like.”
That goes double for those who latch on to absurd quixotic forays into social justice activism. Many pointed out the simple solution for those who disapproved of varied network options.
You could always look to the left or to the right where there are TVs tuned to different channels. Must you vet what other guests are able to watch?

I can personally agree with Mr Mann regarding a lot of the opinions he has about Fox News in general. But imagine being this bothered by a tv station in a fitness room at a hotel you spent at best less than 1 hr in. Let’s get some thicker skin guys.

Imagine being this fragile.

Perhaps nobody took better advantage of the opportunity to dunk on the whining, in particular that of Galen, than contributing editor of The Spectator Stephen Miller.
"We'll wait" lol, until when? Marriott turns 18 and then you lose interest? https://t.co/JrFaJAmPAL
