Former MSNBC commentator and “broadcast journalist” Keith Olbermann took a moment Saturday to stop his usually embolism-threatening rants and foaming at the mouth to digitally stick his foot in as he piled on a fake assault against Andy Ngo by utilizing a fake tweet.
Thor Benson, a contributor to The Daily Beast and The Atlantic, claimed Friday that he had not only run into Ngo at a bar in New Orleans, but that he had effectively harassed author of “Unmasked” to the point that Ngo was compelled to leave. In addition to the blatantly inappropriate behavior that Benson bragged about with followers who suggested outright violence against Ngo, there was one glaring problem.
The man in question was reportedly not Ngo.
Thor Benson, a white freelance writer, thought he found me & instead harassed a random Asian in New Orleans & made him leave a bar. Benson's followers said the man should've been assaulted. @TracyConnor @CorinneIOZO you okay w/your contributor doing this?https://t.co/4AGDpu3YQd pic.twitter.com/C1NBGxq9VQ

Benson had posted, “I just ran into Andy Ngo at a bar in New Orleans. I politely told him he’s a ‘garbage person.’ Lol”
Ngo contended that Benson was guilty of racially discriminating against a random Asian man because they looked alike and went on to share the violence-laced exchanges between the offending writer and supporters with Benson’s editors.
In response to the comments, like one that seemed to suggest they would begin looking for Ngo in the future writing, “Shoulda clocked him – also what bar?” many were quick to point out abhorrent behavior from Benson.
White journalist harasses random Asian person at bar wrongly thinking he's Andy Ngo

“Andy Ngo is the white supremacist” screams the guy chasing random Asians out of bars because I guess they all look the same.

This guy, who writes for a bunch of prominent sites, harassed an Asian man in a bar, thinking it was Andy Ngo, until he left. He then engaged in violent rhetoric with his followers, some asking where the bar is. Indiscriminate violence is too normalised in progressive circles. https://t.co/dkoDdx2VPd pic.twitter.com/UowmuwPEE7

These and so many more pointed out the horrendous behavior of Benson and the fallacy of his claim well before Keith Olbermann caught wind of it. Had he cared to do anything other than malign the character of Ngo and further abuse the investigative journalist, he would have taken the barest of moments to search the veracity of the story.
However, Olbermann chose to be doubly ignorant to the truth Saturday when he used a tweet that had already been debunked as fake to continue the bullying of Ngo.
Was he carrying the kind of weaponized lethal sex toy that seem to follow you around? https://t.co/oAaENwdeTd pic.twitter.com/BXmU87QkHi

“Was he carrying the kind of weaponized lethal sex toy that seem to follow you around?” Olbermann asked attaching an image of a bogus tweet claiming to come from Ngo’s account stating he was on his way to a hospital after Antifa had struck him with a “silicone rod.”
Ngo didn’t wait long to point out, “That’s a fake tweet, Keith,” and others quickly followed suit.
Love how this illustrates just the kind of “journalist” @KeithOlbermann is. What other unverified stories have you pushed Keith?

Remember these are the people who invent new words just to win an argument. They invent scenarios to get their way.

Keith continues to prove time and time again just how grounded in reality he really is. I wouldn’t give this awful excuse of a man any attention, he’s simply not a bottom feeder worth acknowledging.

Olbermann’s lack of self-awareness and poor excuse for journalism continued later when he drew attention to an official Russian government account for spreading propaganda.
“Say, @twittersecurity,” he wrote, “how do you let these butchers, who not only spread fabulist propaganda but do nothing BUT, continue to exploit this platform? Ban these fiends.”
Say, @twittersecurity – how do you let these butchers, who not only spread fabulist propaganda but do nothing BUT, continue to exploit this platform?
Ban these fiends. https://t.co/ptN7Q3yIkh

Perhaps Olbermann was displaying the “takes one to know” method of deduction here. While his motivations can’t be clear, his falsehoods have been to anyone paying attention.
@KeithOlbermann is one of the truly horrible people who so often endorses people he personally don’t like should be harmed.

Pretty much everything @KeithOlbermann tweets at this point, is fake, so… not unexpected.

Keith is comfortable treating racist intimidation of Asians as a joke and spreading misinformation.
If he saw the mirror image of himself on the other side of the political aisle he would want that doppelgänger severely punished.
