The mainstream liberal media must perhaps be getting worried about the repercussions of the ongoing U.S. Department of Justice investigation into the Hunter Biden laptop scandal and related allegations of influence pedaling.
Big Tech and the corporate media censored or sought to discredit the story, a scoop by the New York Post, during the 2020 election cycle because they apparently perceived that it would harm candidate Joe Biden and Democrats generally. As the scandal gains further traction, however, journalists, or those perhaps more accurately described as publicists, now appear to be circling the wagons around the Biden administration.
In the clip embedded above, CNN White House correspondent John Harwood, for example, served up a helping of word salad on the ratings-challenged network that President Donald J. Trump memorably labeled as “very fake news.”
The story was initially dismissed as Russian disinformation, but even the New York Times finally admitted earlier this month that the laptop was real. The GOP has called for a congressional investigation into the coverup.
Whether the investigation in the Biden-controlled agency goes anywhere remains to be seen, although a grand jury has reportedly been impaneled.
As alluded to above, still nothing to see here, Harwood hinted:
“It seems pretty clear that Hunter Biden was trading on his father’s name to make a lot of money. He’s had a difficult life, but until someone makes a nexus between what Hunter Biden has done and official activities of Vice President Biden or President Biden, it’s a not-pretty picture, but it’s not really of much public import in terms of the policy of the United States or the administration of the government. And the fact that an investigation has been sustained during the Biden administration is an indication that the government is working on this subject, and that we’ll see what the results are.
“But so far, there is zero evidence that Vice President Biden, or President Biden, has done anything wrong in connection with what Hunter Biden has done,” Harwood concluded somewhat robotically. [Emphasis added]
Joe Biden has denied any impropriety by him or his son.
John Harwood is the same reporter who implied that any GOP questioning into the judicial record or legal philosophy — the whole point of holding the confirmation hearings — of far-left Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson is putting the judge’s life in danger.
In the meantime, U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) managed to get the Biden laptop hard drive data entered into the Congressional Record even as a top FBI official admitted to Gaetz that he had no knowledge of the whereabouts of the actual device that is or was purportedly in the bureau’s custody.

According to conservative influencer Jesse Kelly, the political/media establishment is engaging in some preemptive activity:
“The media choosing to report on the Hunter Biden stuff now means one of two things: 1. Real legal problems are coming for Hunter and they’re trying to get in front of them. 2. The Communist power brokers have decided Joe is too much of a liability and want him gone.”
Fellow influencer Jack Posobiec claimed today that “Hunter is the bagman for the Biden family who holds the money. This is what people need to understand. They aren’t just protecting him, they’re protecting the family.”
Twitter reacted to Harwood’s spin-control efforts, and it’s not going well for him or the network once known as the most trusted name in news. Here is just a selection:
Hi @JohnJHarwood I can bring you the evidence to CNN DC HQ this afternoon?

The 2 most loyal Democratic Party spokespeople in all corporate media are @pbump and @JohnJHarwood. Not even Jen Psaki is as devoted to the Party and Biden. Even Maddow throws in an occasional criticism of Dems (usually: they should fight the GOP harder!, but still). Loyalists: https://t.co/JVhNIgvoRL

Aren’t these the same folk that couldn’t find a “nexus” between Trump and Russia but ran Russian Collusion stories all day, every day, for 3 years?
— Rich Weinstein (@phillyrich1) March 30, 2022
Yeah, they were falling over themselves to report every tiny lead on the Russia collusion thing, but a laptop potentially containing tons of dirt on the sitting President? Nah, just dismiss it entirely and keep telling people it’s a hoax.

“So far there is zero…” something about the way he said that makes me believe the exact opposite.

I’ve started just watching clips of media segments like this with the sound off.
Because when you just watch their mannerisms you can really see just how fundamentally stupid these people are. The stupidity is written all over their faces. https://t.co/HGHq8QA9jb

“not of public import”
is that what they said about Trump’s kids’ corruption??

Then let’s look at the whole thing if there is nothing to see. State TV.
