Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro scathingly tore into Will Smith for slapping comedian Chris Rock across the face at the Oscars, pointing out that the “Independence Day” actor seems to have no issue with men sleeping with his wife but apparently can’t take a joke.
“This is like the mildest joke anyone has ever told about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett considering that they have an open marriage and it is well known that Will Smith… let’s just say that other dudes and Jada Pinkett has been a thing for a very long time with this marriage. Like, very publically so,” Shapiro pointed out on “The Ben Shapiro Show.”
“So, this is the mildest joke anyone has ever told about Jada Pinkett-Smith. On the list of jokes about Jada Pinkett-Smith, this one is like… this ranks 1,292. And what is funny about this actually is, as you will see, after Chris Rock tells this joke, they cut to Will Smith. He’s laughing. And then he looks over at Jada Pinkett and she’s mad and then the unthinkable occurs,” he stated and went on to play the clip of the slap heard around the world.
“So, first of all, Christ Rock is more of a man for taking that slap than Will Smith is for throwing it. Right, like you’re on the stage in front of several million people and somebody smacks you upside the head and you just take it like that? First of all, Will Smith is a fairly big dude, and he kind of launches into him right there. The full Batman and Robin meme right there,” the conservative commentator continued.

“The moral standards of Hollywood are weird,” Shapiro noted. “Will Smith is fine with other dudes and his wife having sex. He’s not fine with someone making a joke about his wife at the Oscars.”
“They’ve been public figures for about as long as I’ve been alive. So that’s, that’s — it was a weird — now what was even weirder and I won’t say it’s weird ’cause it actually does say something about where we are in the country. A huge number of people on Twitter came out and were defending Will Smith,” he commented.
“After all it was a bad joke, it was a mean joke. ‘How dare he tell a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith, she has alopecia.’ ‘He shouldn’t tell that joke.’ Okay — you may not like the joke, you might think the joke is bad,” Shapiro continued, explaining that if you don’t like the joke, you should just ignore it, not get physical over it.
Will Smith’s marriage is open to EVERYTHING except jokes.

“We have a general rule in this country that when someone makes a joke you don’t like, you don’t get to smack them upside the head. I don’t find this particularly shocking, truth be told. So much of the left is willing to defend this kind of stuff. Because after all, the left has been willing to defend the idea that violence should be the response to quote on quote ‘microaggression’ for years and years and years,” he added.
if you think this really has to do with that you haven't been paying attention…the woman has been emasculating him in front of the world for years, now he's overcompensating.

Shapiro went on to point out that violence is justified by the left when you speak out against something they don’t approve of. It’s their fallback. He then went on to highlight their utter hypocrisy when it comes to morality on things such as teaching your kids.
Smith’s reaction, in the end, didn’t make much sense but it did get him a lot of facetime.
