Trump scores hole-in-one, salvaging bragging rights after granddaughter wins women’s championship

Former President Donald Trump had some bragging rights of his own on the golf course a week after his granddaughter Kai, 14, won the women’s championship.

The daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa, Kai, is considered by her family to have surpassed them all in her ability on the golf course. She proved her talent when competing against a field of far more experienced golfers in the Women’s Club Championship at the Trump International Gold Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Hours before headlining a “Save America” rally in Commerce, Georgia Saturday, Trump had cause for his own celebration. While golfing with South Carolina political candidate Tim Swain and others, Swain posted a picture of Trump proudly displaying the ball he struck to land a hole-in-one.

The feat was later brought up during the rally when author and presidential appointee during the Trump administration was speaking.

“I understand that you made a hole-in-one today, on golf,” Adams said turning to Trump before looking back to the crowd and declaring, “The guy’s a winner! Guy’s a winner!”

This is not the first time that the former president has been recorded accomplishing the rare feat. A video from 2016 depicts Trump nonchalantly shaking hands with onlookers after doing just that sporting his trademark “Make America Great Again” hat.

Those milestones only further bolster the reputation of Kai who, according to the Daily Mail, is considered the best golfer in the Trump family.

Her father has even gone on record stating how much better than him she had gotten two years ago. “Amazing swing Kai. Daddy daughter day on the golf course,” Don Jr. wrote on a video posted to social media. He followed that comment with, “Kai is really getting good…I think I got lucky that we were rained out after 6 holes.”

The family proudly honored the victory by Kai last weekend with comments by her father remarking “Great work Kai” on a photo with her mother and grandfather where she held up her award and humbly reported “Over the weekend I won the Women’s Club Championship.”

The Trump’s gathered for dinner at Mar-a-Lago, a 15-minute drive from the golf course, where Melania Trump participated in what was considered a rare sighting.

The levity of these moments was a welcome respite from far more serious concerns like those Trump later discussed at the rally. The former president took special note of the dangerous times that we are living in under threat of nuclear war.

Tump went on to point out that, despite those serious concerns, our leaders are more concerned with issues like climate. “The climate!” Trump exclaimed. “Oh, I heard that the other day. Here we are, guys, [Russia] threatening us [and] he’s worried that the ocean will rise one-hundredth of one percent over the next 300 f*cking years.”
