Carlson: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a ‘humiliating defeat’ for Biden

Fox News host Tucker Carlson declared Friday that President Joe Biden’s weakness led to a “humiliating defeat” in Ukraine and continues to harm the United States’ reputation around the globe; “You’re a joke.”

Carlson reminded viewers at the beginning of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that he had aimed to provide a measured analysis of the ongoing invasion Thursday, calling it, “wrong to use the deaths of people on the ground as a partisan cudgel,” before tearing into Biden and his “allies in the media” for doing exactly that.

“War is horrifying, of course, but it’s also a grave and profound thing,” Carlson stated. “You have to stand back and offer a moment before you start drawing convenient conclusions for the suffering you see.”

Instead, those in corporate media, “use the opportunity to attack their political opponents immediately,” Carlson went on, “as they always do. They have no restraint and no shame.”

Having demonstrated that restraint himself, Carlson allowed himself to “note the obvious: The invasion of Ukraine is a humiliating defeat for Joe Biden…He staked this country’s reputation, billions of dollars and the full force of the U.S. government, on preventing Vladimir Putin from invading Ukraine.”

“Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine anyway,” Carlson said, “and America is diminished by that.”

This, Carlson went on, is a continued disservice that Biden is doing to America and its people. Biden “oversaw an almost indescribably chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan” that resulted in the Taliban gaining advanced weapons, American citizens left behind and the deaths of 13 U.S. service members. Less than six months later, the president is helming another “historic foreign policy debacle.”

Carlson then suggested that Biden’s leadership is not only weak but ridiculous because, unlike a weak nation like North Korea, the U.S. has no bite. Carlson explained Biden’s government is “pompous. It’s self-involved. It’s long-winded and fatuous. It’s not so different from the fading old man who leads it.”

“Of course, you felt sorry for the Ukrainians being killed,” Carlson said. “But you also sense that this was a genuine disaster for us in America. And you’re right, it is.”

The detriment to America’s reputation is “quickly draining” under Biden, Carlson assessed, as he squanders it making threats that he “can’t back up.” The result of the empty threats from the president and his surrogates is the world changing their view of the U.S. “You’re not a superpower,” if you don’t mean what you say. “You’re a joke.”

Statements made by Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Department of Defense Press Secretary John Kirby have led to just that. Carlson played clips of all three, pointing to the “greatest sanctions” ever issued by the U.S. as the means to deter Putin before Biden came out and said the opposite.

“Vladimir Putin showed precisely how meaningless our sanctions actually were,” Carlson added. “The greatest sanctions ever, said Kamala Harris, wearing her stupid little mask on Monday. She’s a buffoon. You knew that.”

Carlson went on to highlight this as another point in a series of claims by the administration that continue to erode trust in the government. He mentioned ongoing claims that the “vaccine prevents transmission and infection” despite the evidence to the contrary as an example before pointing to the lack of accountability for these massive blunders because Biden’s “first instinct [is] to protect the bureaucracy, not the country.”

Returning to issues in the Middle East, Carlson brought up Victoria Nuland, a diplomat partially responsible for the Iraq War who is currently leading diplomatic efforts in Ukraine. He further pointed to the fact that no higher-ups lost their jobs or were even disciplined over the debacle in Afghanistan. The only person to be fired over it was now-former U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller for speaking out about the failures of command.

Carlson wrapped things up by highlighting recent quotes from other failed leaders in Biden’s circle, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, whose “opinion are the real threat to democracy” by his measure.

However, as demonstrated with Scheller, speaking out on the facts could brand you a traitor.
