Meghan McCain lashed out at “The View” co-host Joy Behar for trolling and taking an unprovoked vicious swipe at her on Twitter after she posted a loving tribute to her husband Ben Domenech on Valentine’s Day.

McCain’s post showed a sweet picture of her and her husband standing together, with the note, “Happy Valentines Day @bdomenech – I love you and am grateful every day for the life we have together.”

Then a leftist user on the social media platform decided to attack her for loving her husband and making it public by sneering, “Does every thought and sentiment need to be on Twitter?”

Behar evidently was watching and saw the post. She just could not contain her disdain for McCain and tweeted in response, “Apparently.”

McCain is no wallflower and a bit later posted screenshots of the thread, writing, “Imagine spending your Valentine’s Day trolling your ex-colleague’s tweet about her husband.”

Fox News weather reporter Janice Dean stepped in and told McCain that Behar “can’t quit you.”

McCain acknowledged the sentiment and responded, “It’s pathetic and it creeps me out.”

The mother of one went on to write in a now-deleted tweet that leaving “The View” is “like having ex’s who won’t stop drunk texting you.” McCain departed the ABC talk show in July stating that she wanted to leave so she could set up a house in Washington D.C. with her husband and daughter Liberty.

McCain published an audio memoir called “Bad Republican” in October, claiming that her colleagues, including current cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Behar, had consistently attacked her for having conservative views while she was suffering from postpartum depression.

Before her exit from “The View,” McCain and Behar got into it intensely several times. A number of those arguments were aired on the show.

Following maternity leave, McCain returned to the show in January 2021. Behar proceeded to shockingly announce that she “didn’t miss” her while she was away.

“I think they liked not having me,” McCain told People in October. “I think they liked not having someone who would fight with them or give an unpopular opinion.”

McCain stated the vicious comment made her feel “very insecure” and later caused her to have a panic attack. “Being told that to my face on national television shocked me and cut me deep. I cried for days,” she recounted.

“She’s supposed to be my friend and it’s supposed to be a sisterhood,” McCain remarked. “I’ll never forget. I went back to my office and I had a panic attack. I was crying. I was hyperventilating. I threw up.”

McCain says that she and Behar have not spoken privately since that incident. She claims she’s “not angry anymore,” but doesn’t see herself mending the relationship with Behar anytime soon.

“I think that [Behar] needs to understand that the point of the show was for a variety of opinions. That’s the whole purpose of it that Barbara Walters started out with,” she said. “The emphasis was always on me and I felt that was unfair. And again, if this was such an issue, there are producers paid a great deal of money to mitigate this. They didn’t want to, didn’t care to, or just were too lazy to, and I don’t know the answer to what it is.”

Since leaving “The View,” McCain has gone on to become a columnist for The Daily Mail.
