Watch: NFL star tackles fan making insane run for game ball in final minutes of wild playoff game

Buffalo Bills star wide receiver Stefon Diggs literally rocked an overenthusiastic fan’s world on Sunday when he tackled the guy. The star receiver took the Chief’s fan down hard as he stormed the field during the AFC Divisional playoff game.

Diggs only had three catches for seven yards in the game but his wipeout of the intrepid fan made headlines as the best hit of the matchup. With Buffalo, down 26-21, facing a fourth-and-16 from the Kansas City 27 on the heels of the two-minute warning, a guy decided to run onto the field and got a lot more than he bargained for.

The incident took place in the final moments of the fourth quarter of the close game between the Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The fan ran onto the field evidently trying to grab the game ball but was hit full-force by Diggs, who plowed into the fan before letting officials take over.

The two-time Pro Bowler buried his shoulder into the fan’s side and sent him on a one-way trip to the turf. Insanely, the fan actually got up after the bone-shaking hit but was immediately dogpiled by security who then restrained him in a headlock before he was escorted off the field.

The wayward fan was wearing a Travis Kelce jersey. It’s not known if he’s facing any charges for his actions according to TMZ.

Seemingly punctuating the take-down, the Bills scored on the next play. Josh Allen threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Gabriel Davis to give Buffalo a 27-26 lead. Diggs then toe-tapped in the back of the end zone to catch a two-point conversion toss for a 29-26 edge over the Chiefs.

Tony Romo, a former quarterback and a CBS analyst, laughingly proclaimed that Diggs took out his in-game frustrations on the fan while commenting with fellow host Jim Nantz.

The teams went back and forth on touchdowns in a chaotic final stretch during the game before Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker knocked home a 49-yard field goal to tie the game at 36 as time expired.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes proceeded to then send his team to its fourth consecutive AFC Championship Game by capping the opening overtime drive with an eight-yard TD toss to tight end Travis Kelce according to The Bleacher Report. The Chiefs defeated the Bills 42 to 36 with the score.

Fans loved the body-slam by Diggs and had very little sympathy for the over-zealous fan, as seen here:
