Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman is outrageously trying to lay blame for Russia’s aggression on Fox News host Tucker Carlson, claiming his “fanboying over authoritarianism” is part of the reason that President Vladimir Putin is amassing troops on the Ukrainian border.

Vindman made the ridiculous and slanderous comments Wednesday on MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes.” The liberal host remarked that Putin appears to be trying to recreate the USSR and exert control over “former vassal states” that suffered under the communist regime of the Soviet Union.

The now-retired lieutenant colonel was born in Russia and came to fame accusing former President Trump of pay-for-play in a call with Ukraine which led to his first impeachment. Trump would be acquitted of those specious charges.

Vindman’s last assignment was as Director for European Affairs for the United States National Security Council. He resigned from that post in February of 2020.

He summarized the military landscape in Eastern Europe as he sees it while asserting a number of things he believes are contributing to the march towards war. Vindman overlooked the other likely reason which is Biden’s weak stance and posturing against the Russians.

“It’s mainly because a sense of opportunity, a sense of weakness within the United States,” that Putin sees at the moment, Vindman claimed pivoting to blame Trump and Jan. 6 protesters. “I have every reason to believe that if we had not had an insurrection on January 6th, because of President Trump, President Putin would not believe there was an opportunity, there’s a vulnerability within the United States.”

In his effort to lay blame on everyone but the current president of the United States, Vindman then attempted to point fingers at Fox News and host Tucker Carlson.

“The hyperpolarization that Trump continues to nourish in the United States helps,” he charged. “He has major talking heads on Fox News, like Tucker Carlson pandering to his interests, pandering to drawing false equivalencies to the U.S. And Russia, really kind of fanboying over authoritarianism.”

The media and the left were quick to assert that Carlson is a Putin apologist and guilty of spreading communist propaganda. Many contend that it is the media and the left who are actually guilty of supporting Russia.

Vindman continued spewing his biased opinion over what he called the “perception of vulnerabilities and fractures between the U.S. In Europe.” He contended that Putin believes it’s “only going to get harder to act in the future and the time to act is now.” What Vindman didn’t admit is that it is the weakness of the Biden administration that has given the green light to Russia, not Tucker Carlson, former President Trump, Fox News, or conservatives.

“It’s going to be enormously impactful on geopolitics, it’s going to be a human catastrophe,” Vindman warned. “Frankly, we should be doing everything in our power to avoid this from happening, because when those first shots are fired, we don’t have a good idea of how things are going to unfold.”

He also doesn’t note that Ukraine has been the flashpoint for many wars and Putin is lighting the fuse for another. Something he allegedly would never have dared to do while Trump was in office.

Biden claimed in his 2-hour press conference on Wednesday that the U.S. will impose significant economic sanctions if Russia moves forward. He asserted that a “minor incursion” by the Russians would elicit a milder response from the U.S. than that of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Any response from Biden, however, would be met with derision by Putin because he rightly believes the threats have no teeth.

The president also appeared to insinuate that Putin would win, “The cost of going into Ukraine in terms of physical loss of life for the Russians — they’ll be able to prevail over time, but it’s going to be heavy.”

Despite Vindman attempting to blame Carlson and others, Biden’s response to Russia screams weakness and many feel has ostensibly opened the door to aggression.
