Meghan McCain asks why Democrats are so upset over banning critical race theory if it ‘isn’t real’

Reacting to the corporate media mantra that critical race theory is just a controversy fabricated by the GOP for  political gain, Virginia resident Meghan McCain is asking a commonsense question about in-denial, head-in-the-sand liberals:

“If it’s something that doesn’t exist, why are Democrats so riled up at the idea of it being banned places?”

In last Tuesday’s election in the Old Dominion state, Republican winner Glenn Youngkin received strong support from parents of school-age children, Democrats among them, who were very concerned about policies implemented by the state’s education bureaucracy, including often-stubborn local school boards, such as far-left indoctrination in the form of divisive critical race theory.

In school systems around the country, CRT may not necessarily be a stand-alone curriculum, but it often is filtered into various courses of study. COVID-related school shutdowns were also reported issues for parents in Virginia in the run-up to Election Day.

In an appearance on Fox News’ “The Story,” host Martha MacCallum asked McCain to react to a soundbite from MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace during the Virginia election coverage that “The real ominous thing is that critical race theory, which isn’t real, turned the suburbs 15 points to the Trump-insurrection-endorsed Republican.”

The former co-host on ABC’s “The View” who is now a Daily Mail columnist fact-checked Wallace:

I just, you know, I watched that happen live, and I just thought it was really bizarre when you have the kind of shellacking that [Democrat] Terry McAuliffe had, and then you look at all these parents in Virginia — I’m now a parent in Virginia — talking about how education and critical race theory played a huge role in why they ended up voting for Glenn Youngkin. And I just thought it was very strange that there’s a complete and utter denial that critical race theory exists and is being taught.

There is ample evidence of it being taught in many states across the country, and if it’s something that doesn’t exist, why are Democrats so riled up at the idea of it being banned places?”

 

The reason that grassroots parents are upset, she continued, is that “it starts out with premise that all children are either the oppressor or the oppressed, which is a bizarre way, in my opinion, to go about teaching things like math and science.

“I think it is something that has caught on recently with teachers, and parents paying much more attention to what teachers are teaching, which happened as a result of COVID and Zoom classes. And Democrats have done this to themselves,” McCain added.

McCain insisted that Democrat denialism/arrogance is a recipe for electoral disaster.

“It’s strange, instead of taking responsibility like many — some Democrat analysts have — to sort of double down and just say this doesn’t exist: All parents in Virginia are either too racist or too stupid to understand what they voted for and to continue on this path.

“And I think Democrats should keep doing it because it’s 100 percent recipe for success for Republicans going into to midterms and the general election. I just wrote this column because I thought it was so weird to see the kind of failure of an election that we saw in Virginia and the response being ‘this doesn’t exist, and all parents in Virginia are racist.'”

Along these lines, on Tuesday’s “The Five” episode on Fox News, panelist Dagen McDowell quipped that, in general, liberals claim that make-believe things are real and real things are make-believe.

In the above-referenced Daily Mail column, McCain wrote, in part, that “Public documents from the Virginia Department of Education repeatedly mention the term ‘Critical Race Theory’. There are a litany of news stories about teacher-training by consulting firms associated with CRT. City Journal writer Christopher Rufo has reported on these documents as well as Virginia counties implementing CRT into their curriculum….And CRT is not only in Virginia schools, it’s gone national.”

In the segment, MacCallum and McCain also lamented how the media, including NBC’s Saturday Night Live, has disparaged Youngkin’s running mate, Lt. Gov.-elect Winsome Sears.

“It’s awful. I think it’s a historic moment in the fact that she’s a Republican and, by the way, a veteran. It should be getting much more applause. If she were a Democrat, she’d be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine,” McCain asserted.

“But instead, she’s being a punch line on [SNL]…I’m personally excited that she’s now my lieutenant governor, and it’s just a glaring example of the hypocrisy of the left: Everyone is someone that should be celebrated, any woman in office is someone that should be celebrated, unless they’re a conservative woman…”

In a callback to outgoing Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam of yearbook-photo infamy, McCain added that “it’s better to have a ‘blackface governor’ who appeared in blackface and/or a Klan outfit than have a first conservative black woman as lieutenant governor. That’s what’s okay for the left right now.”

McCain, the late Sen. John McCain’s daughter, has separately asserted that Youngkin’s victory proves that America has turned on President Joe Biden’s “far-left radical, toxic” agenda and also that with the support of the parental voting bloc, GOP candidates can win going forward without ex-President Donald Trump’s overt backing

Never Trumper McCain, who previously described herself during her “View” tenure as the only conservative woman in all of mainstream media, is supposedly in negotiations to return to Fox News where she worked during the 2015-2017 time frame.

“TV is a drug. Once you have been on a daily show it is almost impossible to walk away. Most people that have left The View have tried to return to TV on different shows and networks, however, almost all of them fail – except Meghan who has been welcomed back with open arms by Fox News,” insiders supposedly told entertainment gossip site RadarOnline.

“There is not a signed deal in place right yet, but both Meghan and Fox have been made it clear that they want this to happen. Meghan wants a new TV home that supports her and welcomes her views in a way that ABC never did. She needed a little break to recover from the toxic work environment at The View, but is now ready to return and show those women that they didn’t win by pushing her out. Meghan wants revenge.”
