MSNBC’s host diminishes Winsome Sears’ triumph to being little more than a white Republican’s ‘best friend’

It’s been a rough couple of days for the corporate media, which Tucker Carlson has described as the public relations arm of the Democrat Party, after the GOP swept all the statewide offices in Virginia and took control of the House of Delegates in Tuesday’s election.

MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan, an apparent Wikipedia fan, is one of the many TV pundits who suddenly, moreover, doesn’t seem inclined to celebrate diversity.

In addition to CRT foe Glenn Youngkin at the top of the ticket, Virginia voters elected Winsome Sears, a Jamaican-born woman and former U.S. Marine as lieutenant governor, and Cuban-American Jason Miyares as attorney general.

Hasan took to Twitter to nonetheless play the tired white supremacy card and, of course, bash ex-President Donald Trump in the process.

“The argument that white supremacy & racial resentment couldn’t have helped power Youngkin to victory in VA because the Republicans elected a black lieutenant governor – Winsome Sears – is as convincing as saying Trump isn’t a racist because he made Ben Carson his HUD secretary,” he wrote.

Relying on Wikipedia as his primary research source, Hasan linked to a distasteful and outdated entry from the online encyclopedia about white people avoiding allegations of racism by claiming they have black friends.

The Youngkin team received support from Virginians from all walks of life and backgrounds, however, including many parents concerned about pervasive far-left indoctrination in the public schools.

Separately, Lt. Gov.-elect Sears has called upon Hasan’s colleague Joy Reid to invite her on the latter’s MSNBC show.

” Let’s see if she is woman enough to do that. I would go in a heartbeat, and we will have a real discussion without Joy speaking about me behind my back,” Sears told Fox News. “She talks about white supremacy. Does she know that I ran against a white supremacist? Joy, come on. Get your facts straight and then come talk to me.”

Fox News’ Carlson has irreverently nicknamed Reid the “race lady,” while journalist Jason Whitlock similarly dubbed her “Racial Maddow.”

Mehdi Hasan is the same pundit who recently promulgated a conspiracy theory that a Republican-controlled U.S. House would refuse to certify the results of the 2024 presidential election if a Democrat won.

He added that the country is under a “rolling coup” because Republican legislatures are enacting voter integrity laws in states around the country.

The latter seems to be a narrative that the left is test-marketing in the event the GOP fair-and-square wins control of Congress in 2022 even while Democrats insist that challenging the Election 2020 outcome is or was tantamount to sedition.

Social media is roasting Hasan for his latest pronouncement. Here is just a sample:

As perhaps reflected in the above tweets, the late New York City talk show host Bob Grant, who pioneered conservative radio before it was cool and before syndication — let alone streaming — was a thing, often said that when it comes to matters of race, liberals are the ultimate hypocrites.
