Imitation is not always the sincerest form of flattery. In the case of Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert, it appears rather to be the most caustic form of mockery.

On Thursday, a large number of high-profile stars on the right traveled to former President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach resort, Mar-a-Lago, to celebrate the GOP’s stunning election victory this week in Virginia and elsewhere.

Featured among them was Boebert, who drew gasps of shock and delight as she pranced around the lavish resort dressed in a virtual replica of the haughty “Eat The Rich” gown that radical Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had worn to the Met Gala in September.

Except that the Republican lawmaker’s gown said something far more potent: “Let’s Go Brandon.”

Behold:

As of Friday morning, not a single one of the tweets above had been ratioed, which is an impressive feat for a website, Twitter, that’s brimming with liberal Democrats.

This suggests that, despite the social media network’s left-leaning audience, “Let’s Go Brandon” is indeed a “movement” — one that’s supported by a growing number of Americans of all stripes, from conservatives to independents to even some sane liberals.

What may have perhaps made Boebert’s gown even more appealing was that it struck two birds with one stone. It both savaged President Joe Biden, whose poll numbers are so low that even Vox has described them as “very bad,” and also mocked Ocasio-Cortez, the faux “socialist” who decries rich tax cheats while simultaneously befriending them.

It helps too that Boebert’s star status has been rising like a phoenix thanks to her unrelenting willingness to hold the elites in power accountable.

Just this week, she aimed her fury at Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, slamming him for pursuing paternity leave amid an ongoing supply chain crisis.

“Listen, I’m a mother of four. I delivered one of my children in the front seat of my truck. Because as a mom of four, we got things to do. Ain’t nobody got time for two and a half months of maternity leave. We have a world to save here,” she said Monday.

The remarks were made on her YouTube podcast.

Her point was that even if even she, then a regular citizen, was able to keep things moving while taking care of multiple children and giving birth, then Buttigieg, a top U.S. government official, can certainly take care of two adopted children while still doing his job.

And no, her story isn’t made-up. Vail Daily, a paper out of Eagle County, Colorado, wrote about the pickup truck pregnancy way back in 2009.

It turns out Boebert had been en route to the hospital with her husband. It also turns out that they’d been driving so fast — out of desperation, obviously — that the cops had briefly given chase.

“[A]s they were speeding up Grand Avenue at about 60 mph toward the hospital, a police officer gave chase. Lauren managed to call 911 and explained the situation to the dispatcher. The officer was quickly called off but hung with the Boeberts to make sure they made it to the hospital safely,” the paper reported.

Thankfully, they made it to the hospital just fine thanks to their willingness to do what was necessary to get the job done …
