‘Spare me!’ Vulgar anti-Trump stunts come back to bite amid colossal meltdown over ‘Let’s go, Brandon!’

The left has a very selective memory as they seem to have conveniently forgotten the long list of profane, disgusting anti-Trump stunts they pulled while he was in office while they melt down over the “Let’s go, Brandon!” chant.

Following a Southwest Airlines piece written by an Associated Press reporter named Colleen Long who claimed that a pilot signed off in an announcement saying, “Let’s go, Brandon!” while she was on board one of their flights, the left has continued that downward spiral into utter madness over the innocuous phrase.

“TFW you’re trying to go on vacation and then the pilot says the very thing you’re working on over the loud speaker and you have to try to get him comment but then almost get removed from plane,” Long wrote on Saturday.

“Vulgarity stand-in from @SouthwestAir cockpit,” Washington Post editor Cathleen Decker stated in response to the piece.

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld mocked the left’s hurt feelings over the phrase, “They freaked out from takeoff to landing because he said, ‘Let’s go, Brandon!’ It’s the one LGB the left hates to see.”

The left and the media have joined in a new crusade to wipe out the phrase because they contend it is hateful and disrespectful to President Joe Biden.

They seem to have forgotten setting the precedent with some of the nastiest anti-Trump hits including:

  • “We’re going to impeach the mother fu***er.” – Rashida Talib
  • “F*** Trump.” – Robert DeNiro
  • The New York Play adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” depicted the assassination of Trump.
  • Kathy Griffin’s photo with a severed, bloody head of Trump.
  • Madonna threatened to blow up the White House.

And there were many, many more during Trump’s campaigns and his time in office. Too many to count, in fact.

A slew of hateful insults and threats that were hurled at Trump during his time in office were resurrected Monday as reminders while Kathy Griffin’s name trended for hours:

Since last month, far-left pundits and liberal reporters have had a collective meltdown over the anti-Biden slogan. It all started with an NBC reporter at a NASCAR Xfinity Series race either on purpose or by mistake reporting that fans were chanting “Let’s go, Brandon!” instead of what they were actually saying, which was “F*** Joe Biden!”

The phrase caught fire and immediately went viral. It’s everywhere now… memes, politics, the media, sports, clothing, pranks, and in the majority of public venues, most prominently at college sporting events. “Let’s go, Brandon!” has become an internet sensation and the left hates it.

“This is, I think, a witty and funny viral take on the media’s dishonesty that they tell us something that is clearly not true that we can see with our own eyes, and that is why I think it’s so popular with so many people,” Outkick founder Clay Travis noted Monday during “America’s Newsroom.”

Liberals have pretty much gone nuclear over the catchphrase. There has been an absolute deluge of angry tweets, columns, and opinions from leftist talking heads non-stop over the issue.

NPR has branded the phrase as “vulgar” and CNN’s journalist Edward-Issac Dovere was so horrifically offended by the phrase that he called it “an inside joke telling the President of the United States to perform a sexual act on himself.”

He’s far from alone in his outrage. Washington Post reporters Ashley Parker and Carissa Wolf wrote on the “vitriol” from Biden’s detractors in a piece entitled “Biden’s critics hurl increasingly vulgar taunts.”

“The current eruption of anti-Biden signs and chants, however, is on another level, far more vulgar and widespread” than anything that has been seen in previous administrations.

Again, they seem to have forgotten the Trump years.

CNN political analyst and New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman bitterly complained about South Carolina Republican Congressman Jeff Duncan wearing a mask with the “Let’s go, Brandon!” phrase on it.

“There’s nothing serious about this. This is literally done so that he will get attention. And it’s working. It’s just that it involves being on the House floor, which once upon a time was supposed to be something more of a respected space, and a space that was treated differently,” Haberman remarked on “New Day.”

Her colleague on CNN John Avlon referred to the chant as “trollish” and “not patriotic.”

Will Bunch, who is an opinion columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, declared that he would never fly Southwest again while CNN analyst Asha Rangappa unbelievably compared the pilot to an ISIS sympathizer.

“As an experiment, I’d love for an @SouthwestAir pilot to say ‘Long live ISIS’ before taking off. My guess is that 1) the plane would be immediately grounded; 2) the pilot fired; and 3) a statement issued by the airline within a matter of hours,” she tweeted.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was succinct in his assessment of her post, stating, “CNN is deranged.”

“And no, as a factual matter, supporting genocidal religious zealots is not the same as disagreeing with the current President,” Cruz tweeted.

CNN political analyst Joe Lockhart went just as far off the deep end as Rangappa did. He tweeted, “You know who also had coded statements like Brandon? ISIS, the Klan, Nazi’s…beginning to get the point?”

Special derision was reserved for Lockhart on social media and his outrageous statement:
