U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz is implying that a CNN analyst has taken a flight of fancy, as it were, by perhaps analogizing the “Let’s Go Brandon” meme with “Long Live ISIS.”
The Texas Republican tweeted out that “@cnn is deranged. And no, as a factual matter, supporting genocidal religious zealots is not the same as disagreeing with the current President.”
Cruz was reacting to a tweet from CNN’s Asha Rangappa, a former FBI agent who teaches at prestigious Yale University, who wrote the following: “As an experiment, I’d love for an @SouthwestAir pilot to say ‘Long live ISIS’ before taking off. My guess is that 1) the plane would be immediately grounded; 2) the pilot fired; and 3) a statement issued by the airline within a matter of hours.”
The blue-check left apparently is still triggered by an October 29 incident in which a Southwest Airlines pilot allegedly said “Let’s go Brandon” over the PA system on a flight from Houston to Albuquerque.
The airline subsequently released a statement that it “does not condone employees sharing political opinions” while on the clock and has launched an internal investigation into the matter. Many social media users later questioned whether the pilot actually said the phrase or had, in fact, been overheard saying “Let’s go Braves.”

The LGB mantra has caught on in a big way at sporting events and elsewhere as a less-profane substitute for “F**k Joe Biden.
It all got started when an NBC Sports reporter memorably appeared to misunderstand what was being shouted in the stands following a NASCAR race at Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway when she was interviewing winner Brandon Brown.
The anti-Biden tune “Let’s Go Brandon,” performed by Christian rapper Bryson Gray, subsequently bumped pop music superstar Adele’s latest single off its perch as the top song on iTunes
According to Fox News, neither CNN nor Rangappa have as yet provided a public comment about what Cruz shared on Twitter.
Perhaps upping the hyperbolic ante, a commentator who appears on both CNN and MNSBC, networks where so far there is no metaphorical vaccine for Trump derangement syndrome, separately chimed in on Twitter with this variation on a theme: ‘Let’s go, Brandon’ is the MAGA version of ‘Sieg Heil.’”

Many Twitter users — apart from die-hard, what-about-Trump liberals who disproportionately inhabit the social media platform — are on Team Ted rather than Team Deep State. Here is a sampling:
Former FBI special agent believes that the majority of Americans are actually terrorists, because they oppose Dear Leader Joe.

To equate “Long live ISIS” & “Let’s go, Brandon,”
especially when Joe Biden armed the Taliban with billions of dollars worth of equipment,
is intellectually dishonest & you know it.

Comparing a vulgar insult to a politician is on par to terrorism is everything wrong with the media. People who oppose your political opinion of are not enemies who are threatening to kill you. Shame on you for pushing this BS.

That you have no understanding about how different these two scenarios are makes the word “former” in your bio that much more comforting.

Someone needs to calm down. Criticizing a political leader is not terrorism.
— Christina Sommers (@CHSommers) October 31, 2021
So a pilot saying LGB is the same as saying long live ISIS?? Are you out of your mind?

I wonder why Americans have misgivings about the FBI these days 🤔

You tried to think of the left wing equivalent of “Let’s Go Brandon” and this is what you came up with
— Midwit Milhouse (@MidwitMilhouse) October 31, 2021
If you can’t distinguish between the two then you have a serious problem.

“CNN analyst” tells me everything I need to know. 🤡
— Ermos Erotocritou CFP (@dominate2day) November 1, 2021
This is a completely asinine tweet. The pilot shouldn’t have said it, but it’s in no way a support of terrorism as your tweet implies.

Didn’t you say that NFL players were exercising their 1st Amendment rights when they made political statements
While on the job
At their place of employment
Even though they were offending their customers?
Well, looks like you won that argument
