Just ten months into the Biden administration, inflation is at a 13-year high and supply chain issues have left shelves empty, forecasting continued penny pinching for hardworking Americans, a blue Christmas for America’s children, and skyrocketing energy prices expected to increase up to 54 percent.
Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) seems displeased with the U.S. economic trajectory– just not enough to demand accountability from an administration that continues to fan the flames of the economic downturn.
“No family should have to choose between heating their home or putting food on the table,” Schumer said in a press conference on Thursday.
Schumer called on the Department of Health and Human Services to allocate heat funding at the “highest levels, sooner rather than later” for seniors on Long Island, but the White House has refuted any responsibility for the myriad of issues they’ve exacerbated, calling instead on private companies to find solutions.

“We have to make sure our most vulnerable here on Long Island have what they need to pay their heating bills. So were urging HHS to allocate HEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) funding at the highest level soon enough,” Schumer said.
Meanwhile, the White House might as well be asking Americans to say ‘thank you’ for the increase in prices for everything from milk to gasoline, back-to-school shopping, and electricity. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday that the U.S. is at this point because “we’ve made progress in the economy.”

Psaki also had the audacity to claim that Americans haven’t even noticed the dramatic spike in prices. “We all understand the American people are not looking at cost-to-cost comparisons from this year to two years ago,” the press secretary told a reporter during Wednesday’s briefing.
Not to mention the administration’s bizarre defense of White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain’s public support of a tweet calling “inflation, supply chains, etc.” a “high class problem” that was “inherited” from the previous administration.
It seems the Biden administration along with Senator Schumer aren’t on the same page when it comes to the challenges Americans will face paying the bills and staying warm this winter. Users took to Twitter, unafraid to lay the blame at the feet of radical, power-hungry Democrats and the Biden administration responsible for the increasingly abysmal crisis.
“Nothing like the administration and it’s (sic) party setting the policies that are causing the problems, telling you how wrong it is, and to trust them to fix it, by doing more of what they already do,” one user wrote on Twitter.
“No worries, we can just use the 16 cents we saved on our July 4th barbecue to heat the house,” another added.
