Just like former President Barack Obama, who apparently enjoyed randomly showing up on YouTube, current Vice President Kamala Harris is now reportedly pursuing her own ventures on the left-wing video-sharing site.

On behalf of World Space Week, an annual international holiday that the United Nations describes as “an international celebration of science and technology,” she specifically teamed up with YouTube and NASA for a special this week.

“This once-in-a-lifetime event follows a group of lucky kids as they meet Vice President Kamala Harris, go on a scavenger hunt with clues delivered by NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough from the International Space Station, and get unprecedented exclusive access to the United States Naval Observatory,” YouTube announced in a press release.

The special is titled “Get Curious with Vice President Harris,” and while the intention seems noble enough, critics say it’s a “hot mess”  because of what they claim is Harris “overacting” and trying way too hard to be “likable.”

For instance, watch Harris talking to children about “exploring the unknown,” and take note of her grandiose hand gestures and rhetoric:

According to her critics, her performance was Oscar-worthy.

Look:

Notice what one of the Twitter users wrote about “rebranding.”

Last month, the vice president hired two senior advisors to reportedly help boost her ailing image and stunningly poor favorability ratings.

“Vice President Kamala Harris has hired two veteran communications aides to help finesse messaging and long-term planning after a rocky first nine months in office for the second-in-command,” the Washington Examiner reported at the time.

“Lorraine Voles, a crisis communications expert, and Adam Frankel, a former Obama speechwriter, worked for Harris during the presidential transition and have extensive experience crafting messages from the White House and the corporate world. … Among the services Voles advertises on her website, ‘crisis management’ and ‘marketing and rebranding‘ earn top billing,” the Examiner added.

Bu,t as noted by critics, the “rebranding” effort doesn’t appear to be working.

Below is another clip from the special:

The vice president again resorted to frantically waving her hands around as she fumbled with a giant telescope and espoused grandiose rhetoric that was certainly flashy but not necessarily that substantive.

Critics responded by suggesting that perhaps she should point the telescope toward the border instead of space.

Look:

President Joe Biden designated Harris his veritable border crisis czar in March, but she’s done virtually nothing to remedy the perpetually worsening crisis.

Instead, the VP has continually chosen to … play with children.

Just this Friday, for instance, she was seen playing with children in New Jersey instead of attending a crucial border security meeting in Mexico City:

“Harris’ first stop on the day-long trip to the Garden State was to the Ben Samuels Children’s Center at Montclair State University in Little Falls, where she touted the need to pump more federal money into child care,” NJ.com reported.

“After the Montclair appearance, Harris stopped by Essex County College in Newark to tour its COVID-19 vaccination site. … Walking in the area where shots were given, Harris delivered a pitch for more people to get vaccinated,” according to NJ.com.

Below is one final clip:

The origin of this particular clip is unclear because it’s not included in the full special.

The vice president’s poll numbers have been unusually low, with her scoring an approval rating of only 35 percent in early September.

This special could possibly boost her approval rating. But on the other hand, it could worsen it as well.
