Heavily armed Mexican cartel smugglers have reportedly been sidling up to the southern U.S. border in Texas and “taunting” the Texas National Guard soldiers who’ve been stationed there by Gov. Greg Abbott in response to the border crisis.

According to a statement from Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Christopher Olivarez, the cartel “gunmen” have been brazenly smuggling illegals into the U.S. and then returning to the border to essentially mock America’s limp response.

“What’s been happening actually this past week is we see a group of individuals … come across the river into the U.S. and smuggle people, they go back into Mexico, and they get their weapons,” he explained to the Washington Examiner on Wednesday.

“These are assault rifles, OK, AK-47s. They’ll stand in the middle of the river, and then they’re brandishing their weapons and taunting the National Guard, who’s across on the U.S. side,” he added.

The following photos from Texas DPS reportedly show this happening live:

Apparently, the soldiers deployed by Abbott would only be allowed to open fire if the smugglers “make a threat towards National Guard or if they raise that weapon,” according to Olivarez.

In a statement to Fox News, Texas DPS said it’s “committed to securing our southern border under the direction of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott” and will “continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds in order to make real-time decisions and will adjust operations as necessary.”

“As we work closely with the Texas Military Department, any potential threats toward law enforcement and the Texas Military Department will be fully investigated, and those responsible will be arrested and charged to the fullest extent of the law,” the agency added.

Abbott originally deployed the Texas National Guard to the border all the way back in March in response to U.S. President Joe Biden doing nothing to stem the never-ending tide of illegal aliens streaming into America.

If anything, the Biden administration keeps incentivizing more illegal migration by treating illegal aliens with kid gloves.

According to reports, illegals apprehended at the border haven’t even being tested for the coronavirus before being released into the U.S.

Meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced last month that he will no longer allow immigration officers to deport illegal aliens just because they’re here illegally.

“In exercising this discretion, we are guided by the knowledge that there are individuals in our country who have been here for generations and contributed to our country’s well-being, including those who have been on the frontline in the battle against COVID, lead congregations of faith, and teach our children,” he said on Sept. 30th.

“As we strive to provide them with a path to status, we will not work in conflict by spending resources seeking to remove those who do not pose a threat and, in fact, make our Nation stronger,” he added.

In other words, he vowed to only deport those illegals who appear to “pose a threat.” Not factored into this announcement was the longtime trend of Mexican cartels maliciously recycling children to use them as entry tickets for their clients.

The trick involves attaching a child to an adult male and claiming the child is that male’s son, daughter, etc. Once the adult male makes it into the country, the child is then returned to the border to be used for another adult male client.

All this comes amid reports that a gigantic caravan of as many as 60,000 to 80,000 Haitian migrants are en route to the southern U.S. border.

“Texas government and law enforcement leaders have stepped up efforts to make up for the federal government’s absence, and leaders spent the weekend preparing for a possible rush of more than 60,000 Haitian migrants. Most of the Haitians have traveled from South America to cross the border rather than traveling to a port of entry,” the Examiner reported Tuesday.

“The number of Haitian migrants headed to the U.S. could be four times the size of the group that made it across in Del Rio last month, leading to chaos as 15,000 people camped out under an international bridge waiting to be taken into federal custody,” the news outlet added.

The vast majority of Haitians in the last group of migrants wound up being released into the U.S.
