Violent leftists, one in gorilla mask, attack Larry Elder with eggs and pellet gun; punches thrown

Republican Larry Elder was violently attacked in Venice, California with eggs and punches were thrown while a pellet gun was fired at his security detail as he campaigned against Governor Gavin Newsom in the state’s recall effort.

The campaign event was cut short on Wednesday as protesters surrounded Elder and his security detail and then attacked them. Videos surfaced online of one protester in a gorilla mask throwing an egg from behind Elder that narrowly missed his head.

“We’re getting egged from behind,” one of his security detail stated in the video. Then one of Elder’s team got in the face of the woman who threw the egg and she loudly threatened him and then started punching him in the head. Elder’s man did not retaliate. Then another man stepped forward and started yelling at and threatening the same team member followed by another woman hitting him in the head.

“Today I kicked off the Recall Express bus tour. Before we even left Los Angeles, my security detail was physically assaulted, shot with a pellet gun, and hit with projectiles,” the Republican candidate noted in a statement released on Twitter. “The intolerant left will not stop us. We will recall Gavin Newsom. We will save California.”

One masked black man kept yelling, “Get that sorry piece of sh*t out of here!”

Elder was quickly escorted to an SUV and whisked away from the crowd of angry leftists.

Law enforcement told TMZ that someone fired a pellet gun and hit one of Elder’s team. Although pellet guns can do serious damage when fired at close range, no one was reported as being seriously injured. No one has been arrested yet.

Elder was visiting the beach community to address the homeless crisis in Los Angeles and across the state. Instead, he was heckled and attacked by protesters who decided to get violent.

If Elder beats Newsom in the recall, he will be the first black governor in California. Leftists are outrageously accusing him of being the black face of white supremacy. The Republican candidate is the leading opponent to replace Newsom and the outcome of the recall effort will be decided next Tuesday.

A California professor who was campaigning for Newsom reportedly called Elder “a black face on white supremacy” during an event with the governor Monday.

State Sen. Sydney Kamlager proclaimed there’s a recall challenger who “thinks he might have an edge because of his color. But racism … comes in all shapes and sizes, and we’re not stupid,” LAist reporter Kyle Stokes tweeted.

Melina Abdullah, who is a professor at California State University, Los Angeles, followed that up by declaring, “She didn’t say his name, but I will: Larry Elder is a black face on white supremacy.”

Polls are showing Newsom in the lead but Elder is wildly popular and has a serious chance of upending him if the election is conducted fairly. Many don’t put much stock in the polls that show a double-digit number of voters being in favor of keeping Newsom in office.

California voters will have to answer two questions on the recall ballot. The first one is on whether or not they want to remove the current governor from office. If the majority of voters think he should be, only a plurality will be required to determine who will be the next state’s governor.

The violent leftists were slammed on social media for attacking Elder:
