Real LA Times headline: ‘Larry Elder is the black face of white supremacy. You’ve been warned’

A scathing, racist and ridiculous op-ed posted by The Los Angeles Times called Larry Elder, a candidate in the California Governor’s recall race, “the Black Face of White Supremacy” and Elder, not one to lie down in the face of racism and ridicule, joined Fox News’ “Hannity” to react.

Host Sean Hannity began the segment Friday by apologizing to Elder for having to experience this kind of narrative from the supposedly “tolerant left.”

“Well Sean, thank you for that but I anticipated that would happen. This is why a lot of people don’t go into politics because of the politics of personal destruction. This is not the first time the LA Times has attacked me, there’s another writer who all but called me a black David Duke,” Elder said.

The reason for the vitriolic opposition from the left is simple according to Elder. Democrats are terrified that a Republican could be elected Governor of California and the implications for other states around the country that would come with that.

“They are scared to death. They know that if California can elect a conservative governor like myself– and they can and they will on September the 14th– then any state can. And they’re deathly afraid of this. I’m told that Senator Dianne Feinstein is more feeble than Joe Biden and if she retires or becomes incapacitated, they’re afraid that I will appoint a Republican Senator and that would shift the whole balance in the Senate. So for all those reasons, it’s mayday for the Democrats,” Elder explained.

The longtime radio host has been attacked by many power players in the Democrat Party, even President Biden himself, which only serves to further illustrate their fear.

“So Joe Biden has weighed in, Kamla Harris has weighed in, Elizabeth Warren’s cut a commercial that didn’t defend his record on crime, one homelessness, on the rising cost of living, on the way he shut down this state without paying attention to science. They just attacked, attacked, attacked and said it was driven by Republicans. That’s all they’ve got,” Elder described Democrats’ losing strategy.

Elder recounted that while he’s only been a politician for a little more than a month now, he has seen no end of ridiculous claims and stunts by the left to try to get him off the ballot.

“First as you know, they tried to get me off the ballot by claiming I didn’t properly turn over five years of taxes. We ended up suing and a left-wing judge said that ‘Elder was right’ and threw that out and put me right back on the ballot. And then I was accused of hating women because I wrote an article 21 years ago that cited a study from the left-wing Annenberg School of Journalism that looked at 25 questions asked of men and women and men knew more about those questions than did women. I quoted a left-wing professor who said the reason why women knew less is because they get their primary source from local news, and she said ‘watching local news makes you dumber.’ I didn’t say that, she did,” Elder detailed.

The opposition campaign didn’t stop there. Elder was accused of brandishing a gun at a former girlfriend.

“I wanna say right now I’ve never brandished a firearm, loaded or unloaded, at anybody.  The rest of the allegations she made I’m not going to dignify by giving a comment,” Elder responded.

Columnist Erika D. Smith described Elder’s candidacy through the eyes of the left in her despicable opinion piece:

Larry Elder smiled the smug smile of a Black conservative who could very well be liberal California’s next governor.

‘Where do you start with the damage Gavin Newsom has done to the state that we both love?’

He leaned forward to gaze across the room of white Republicans who had come to a hear him speak in Orange County.

‘Rising crime? (It’s) because of this phony narrative that the police are engaging in systemic racism and cops are pulling back,’ Elder said. ‘… When you reduce the possibility of a bad guy getting caught, getting convicted and getting incarcerated, guess what? Crime goes up.’

Then another smile, this one even more smug than the last.

‘Can you say, ‘Duh?’

Smith attempted to paint Elder as an egoist, a villain who devout Democrats must guard their state against. The illogical tirade features quotes from people like the leader of Los Angeles’ Black Lives Matter chapter, a corrupt national organization.

“I won’t lie. Few things infuriate me more than watching a Black person use willful blindness and cherry-picked facts to make overly simplistic arguments that whitewash the complex problems that come along with being Black in America,” Smith says.

The writer goes on to further offend, saying that, “Like a lot of Black people, though, I’ve learned that it’s often best just to ignore people like Elder. People who are — as my dad used to say — skin folk, but not necessarily kin folk.”

Elder, who is leading in the LA Times’ own polls as Smith begrudgingly conceded in her piece, hammered current California Governor Gavin Newsom for his gross incompetence as the state’s leader:

“[Newsom] said he’s proud of what Joe Biden did in Afghanistan. It’s a window to Gavin Newsom’s incompetence and you didn’t mention the employment development department where he allowed $30 billion dollars that should have gone for unemployment benefits for people in California to criminals inside the country and international criminals. The man is completely incompetent and that’s why nearly 1.7 million people signed a petition. Maybe a third of them were independents and Democrats who just voted for him two years earlier.”

Elder points out that the leftist establishment is shaking in its boots and doing anything it can to pump up Newsom who reportedly already raised about $50 million primarily from the teachers’ unions, the public sector unions, Hollywood and Big Tech.

The radio host turned politician has shown no sign of bending to the pressure from the left. The recall election will take place on September 14.
