Chris Hayes freaks out over ‘dystopian’ anti-abortion tip site, but where was he for COVID reporting lines?

MSNBC host Chris Hayes took great offense over an anti-abortion group in Texas running a tip line to report those who assist with an abortion after the cut-off date, but he has not spoken up concerning COVID tip lines.

“It’s enforced by private citizen bounty hunters with a $10,000 check being dangled by the Texas government,” Hayes proclaimed. “To help carry out the new law the state’s largest anti-abortion group put out this completely creepy dystopian tip line.”

He slammed the pro-life tip line during his show “All-in with Chris Hayes” Friday night as he railed against what the left views as the death of Roe v. Wade. Texas passed anti-abortion legislation this week that makes it illegal to have an abortion after six weeks which is when a baby’s heartbeat is detectable. The law also allows private citizens to sue those who allegedly facilitate an abortion.

Multiple cities across the nation set up COVID tip lines in response to leftist calls to hold people accountable. One such instance was in Boise, Idaho where a hotline for people to report businesses for not following the requirements of a health order was set. Primarily, people would use the tip line to report mask non-compliance.

Individuals and businesses have been actively encouraged to report on anyone who does not comply with COVID mandates since the beginning of the pandemic. Berkeley County School District (BCSD) in California also launched a COVID safety concern voicemail tip line and expanded its mobile app-based anonymous tip line to accommodate safety concerns in response to federal guidelines. That system goes much further it would seem than the pro-life tip line does and yet Hayes has never mentioned it.

While Hayes railed against the pro-life tip line, he has been hypocritically silent when it comes to leftist tip lines used to report those who don’t wear masks, social distance, or get vaccinated. It seems odd that one tip line could be dystopian and not the other.

Hayes played a video for effect from Texas Right to Life that encourages viewers to use the tip line and a website to report those who take part in killing the unborn against state law.

“We need your help. If you are on the sidewalks at the abortion mills or if you hold evidence of an abortion occurring after the baby’s heartbeat is detectable, you can anonymously report that at prolifewhistleblower.com. That’s prolifewhistleblower.com,” the video advised.

“You can stop abortion by protecting women and children from unsafe criminal abortions. Those who worship at the altar of child sacrifice tried to shut down prolifewhistleblower.com, but the site is still functioning and active, and awaiting your reports and findings. Through civil enforcement, the Texas Heartbeat Act escapes the talons of activist judges by relying on the public to enforce the law. Any abortionist who commits the abortion after the child’s heartbeat is detected is liable to be sued by almost anyone,” the announcer concluded.

“I’m going to say a few things about that,” Hayes responded. “First of all, for a movement that talks all the time about freedom and about how it is tyranny or Marxism to put a mask on, what would you describe a society in which your neighbors creep around spying on you to report out your health care decisions? Does that sound like a free society to you?”

He later said, “Of course, it would be a shame if people spammed it into complete ineffectiveness.”

Following Hayes’ call to action, the site has been massively spammed. A TikTok user created a script that allows people to swamp the site with fake tips. GoDaddy also told Texas Right to Life on Thursday that they will cut off service to the group on Friday night because its tip site violated its terms of service by collecting nonpublic information about individuals without their “prior written consent.” That is a weak excuse for censoring the pro-life group.

On Thursday, Hayes really vented on the new law.

He concluded his rant with a call to resist against the law and those who enforce it, “If this is going to be the way this goes down, there is no choice but for full-scale lawful, nonviolent mobilization, to use the means of Democratic politics, from everyone who cares about bodily autonomy and constitutional rights to preserve the rights of women.” That ostensibly is a demand for stacking the Supreme Court and doing away with the filibuster.

Abortion has blotted out anything to do with Afghanistan on the left. In fact, they are using the abortion issue to bury the debacle. Instead of addressing the bloody catastrophe orchestrated by President Biden, Hayes dedicated nearly 20 minutes of his show to hysterical panic over the Republican-backed abortion law. He even baselessly claimed that most Americans and Texans were against it.

A constitutional fight is brewing over the new Texas law and Mississippi is set to pass a similar bill. The 10th Amendment is in play here and states’ rights versus the diktats of the federal government are likely going to clash in a fierce legal battle over it. Currently, a Democratic judge in Texas has blocked the law until it can be reviewed.
