Embattled Governor Gavin Newsom, who is facing an impending recall election that he may very well lose, snapped at a reporter last week and railed against everyone outside of California “b****ing about this state.”
According to the Sacrament Bee who interviewed Newsom, he ardently defended his tenure as governor by telling Florida and Texas to “eat their heart out” over job creation in the state.
“It’d be damn nice if our homegrown team would be focusing on what’s right! Everybody outside this state is b****ing about this state because of our success,” Newsom snapped.
“Guys, forgive me, I know I am a little pointed today but I’ve been taking a lot from you folks for a lot of months,” Newsom declared pointing to the reporters behind the camera. “I should be able to express myself, too.”

“I’m a future ex-Governor,” Newsom admitted. “It could happen in a few weeks, it could happen in a few years. I love this damn state.”
“Did you know, Stephanie, that middle-class families in Texas pay more taxes than middle-class Californians?” Newsom pointedly asked a reporter.
“Look that up. That’s a fact. I don’t know why that doesn’t get more damn attention,” Newsom angrily asserted.
The California governor is facing a much closer-than-anticipated recall election and is not expected to come out on top by many.
The video of Newsom coming unglued has gone viral on social media.
The number of candidates seeking to unseat him is growing by the day. Conservative radio host Larry Elder seems to be leading the pack followed by reality TV star and former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner. Those are only two of a large gaggle of Republicans nipping at Newsom’s political heels.
Rather than listening to irate business owners and residents that are sick and tired of taxes, regulations, illegal immigrants, skyrocketing prices, homeless individuals, and lockdowns, Newsom is following the progressive playbook and is doubling down.
On Wednesday, he announced the nation’s first vax-or-test rules for teachers according to Politico. The state will require all teachers and school employees to be vaccinated or submit to regular COVID testing. California will be the first state to implement vaccination and testing requirements amid growing Delta variant concerns.
School employees will be forced to show proof of vaccination to their districts. This follows three large California districts announcing similar requirements Tuesday, just two days after American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten voiced support for such a mandate.
California’s two major teachers’ unions, the California Teachers Association and the California Federation of Teachers, both support the plan. CTA is reporting that nearly 90 percent of its members are vaccinated.
“We’re not shy about leaning into that space because of the importance of getting this disease behind us, but as it relates to schools, we’re confident in the approach we’re taking,” Newsom stated last week.
His position on the subject is not likely to help his chances in the recall election that is set to take place in less than five weeks. Elder is for reopening the schools and is against mandates which stands in stark contrast to Newsom’s view on the issue.
Newsom has previously imposed vaccine-or-test requirements for state employees and a Sept. 30 mandate with limited exemptions for healthcare workers. His actions have not been popular but he is steamrolling ahead nonetheless.
It is pretty clear that Newsom now sees the writing on the political wall.
