The gunman who allegedly shot and killed eight people at an Indianapolis FedEx facility on Thursday has been identified as a former employee named Brandon Scott Hole. He was known to authorities and was alleged to be mentally ill.
Hole was 19-years-old and was no stranger to authorities. He was even questioned last year by the FBI. According to Paul Keenan, special agent in charge at the FBI’s Indianapolis field office, his mother claimed in 2020 that her son might attempt to commit “suicide by cop,” WTHR reported.
According to the outlet, the shooter was arrested on March 3, 2020, when the police “seized shotgun from dangerous person.” The police report went on to note: “Behavioral health unit initiated immediate detention.” Hole purchased the shotgun in question just before he was arrested. He was then transported to a hospital.
The FBI came to the conclusion that no crime had been committed and that Hole had not referenced any sort of racially motivated ideology. The police kept the shotgun even though he was released.

The shooter reportedly last worked at the FedEx facility in 2020. No motive has been determined yet for the shooting.
Hole allegedly killed four employees outside the facility, then entered and murdered four more before he shot and killed himself prior to police officers entering the building. He wounded five other employees. FedEx reportedly believes their security measures stopped the killer from taking more lives.
Hole seemed to have shot his victims at random and was reportedly not focused on one individual.

“I wish we can answer that,” Deputy Chief Craig McCartt stated when asked about a possible motive. The police went on to comment that Hole had been previously arrested in 2013 but did not say what for.
McCartt told CNN that the shooting “probably lasted one to two minutes.”
“It was very short,” McCartt remarked, adding that the killer started shooting in the parking lot immediately after getting out of his car before entering the facility and continuing with his attack.
On Friday, federal agents searched Hole’s home and took away evidence that included a large box and his computer. According to neighbors, more than 30 law enforcement vehicles arrived at the home on Friday morning.
Did the FBI know in advance the identity of Indianapolis killer Brandon Scott Hole? Just like Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa. And the Pulse Nightclub shooter. San Bernardino terrorists. Boston Marathon bombers. Garland Texas shooters. Parkland High School shooter. Fort Hood shooter. Etc.

Indianapolis Police Chief Randal Taylor commented that a “significant” number of employees at the FedEx facility are members of the Sikh community. At least four of the victims were members of the Sikh community. It is not known if that had anything to do with the killing spree.
Friday evening, Indianapolis police released the names of the eight murder victims: Matthew R. Alexander, 32; Samaria Blackwell, 19; Amarjeet Johal, 66; Jaswinder Kaur, 64; Jaswinder Singh, 68; Amarjit Sekhon, 48; Karli Smith, 19; and John Weisert, 74. The next of kin have been notified.
FedEx Chairman and CEO Frederick Smith stated that the shooting was a “senseless act of violence.”
“First and foremost, I want to express my deepest sympathies to the families, friends, and co-workers of those team members. Our priority now is in responding to the situation on the ground and helping our team members and law enforcement,” he said.
