Former President Trump called for a boycott of Major League Baseball on Friday after the franchise announced it would move the All-Star Game out of Atlanta, Georgia to protest a new election law mandating voter ID.
“I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game,” Commissioner Rob Manfred Jr. stated on Friday.
Both Trump and Republican Gov. Brian Kemp claimed that the MLB was “afraid of the Radical Left Democrats.” The former president also asserted that the MLB was pressured to relocate the game because of the voter integrity law signed by Kemp.
Trump then nailed “woke” companies such as Coca-Cola and Delta that also took a stance against the law and released statements condemning it. Other companies that joined in on bashing the law included Merck, Chase, Home Depot, BlackRock, Porsche, UPS, Microsoft, Cisco, Citigroup, Facebook, American Express, Viacom, and Apple. There were many others as well.
“Baseball is already losing tremendous numbers of fans,” Trump said, “and now they leave Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they are afraid of the Radical Left Democrats who do not want voter I.D., which is desperately needed, to have anything to do with our elections.”
“Boycott baseball,” Trump stated, “and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections. Are you listening Coke, Delta, and all!”

The part of the law that requires voter identification in Georgia is nothing new. Identification has been required to vote there for a long time so the move by these entities seems calculated. The law also bans electioneering near a polling station, expands weekend early voting, and requires ID to obtain an absentee ballot. President Biden called the law “Jim Crow on steroids.”
Kemp pointed out Friday on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show that the election laws in New York are actually stricter than the ones in Georgia. The statement seems to indicate that it is believed this is a politically motivated plan for leftists to gain control of the voting process in Georgia.
“It’s so hypocritical… Major League Baseball’s headquartered in New York, Delta [Airlines] is flying in New York. I’m sure Coca-Cola sells a lot of product in New York. When you look at New York’s voting laws, you have to have an excuse to vote absentee by-mail in New York. You do not in Georgia,” Kemp noted on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“I guess we should be boycotting [MLB] for having their headquarters in New York because that law is more strict than ours,” he quipped. “I mean, this is all ridiculous.”
“Georgians – and all Americans – should fully understand what the MLB’s knee-jerk decision means: cancel culture and woke political activists are coming for every aspect of your life, sports included. If the left doesn’t agree with you, facts and the truth do not matter,” Kemp declared in a statement.
Trump’s railing against major league sports has become commonplace. He repeatedly went after the NFL for kneeling during the national anthem. He also called the NBA a “political organization” after a number of teams canceled games to protest police brutality. He then accused the NBA of being “bought off” by China.
The former president was just getting warmed up after slamming the MLB and left-leaning companies concerning Georgia’s new voter law. He also made a statement on Friday that blasted the “Fake News Media” over the 2020 presidential election results.
“Why is it that every time the 2020 ELECTION FRAUD is discussed, the Fake News Media consistently states that such charges are baseless, unfounded, unwarranted, etc?” Trump charged.
“Sadly,” he went on, “there was a massive fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election, and many very angry people understand that. With each passing day, and unfortunately for the Radical Left CRAZIES, more and more facts are coming out,” he added.
“Other than that,” Trump proclaimed, “Happy Easter!”

Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) is putting together legislation that would ostensibly strip MLB of its federal antitrust exception over its politically biased actions.
An overwhelming bipartisan majority of Americans support requiring an ID to vote, and any organization that abuses its power to oppose secure elections deserves increased scrutiny under the law.
