Dana Carvey’s Biden impression an instant viral hit, some laughed until they cried. Some just cried.

Comedian Dana Carvey appeared on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night and did a perfect impression of Joe Biden that was sadly a little too close to the truth concerning the president.

The comedic delivery made light of the fact that President Biden has profoundly displayed an alarming degree of incoherence since he’s been in office. It is a sad tribute to the weakness on display in the current administration. The fact that people find it amusing and laugh at it rather than react to it as a burgeoning emergency is terrifying to many Americans.

In a throwback to Carvey’s “Saturday Night Live” skits, the “Wayne’s World” comic riffed on Biden epically: “I do him at the town hall when he’s like the gentle father to the country and he looks like the alien who came off the space ship in ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,'” Carvey snarked to Colbert.

Then, Carvey debuted his Biden impression: “Folks, c’mon. Folks, let’s get real here. You know, we’ve got to do the thing,” Carvey joked referencing Biden’s past statements and making just about as much sense as Biden does when speaking. “We did with Barack, we did the deal. And, you know, my dad, you know, lost his job in Scranton. No joke! No joke, I’m not being a wise guy here. I said, ‘Pops, why did you lose it?’ He said, ‘Joe, I did.’ My mom said, ‘That’s the cookie that crumbles.'”

There was raucous laughter all the way around including from Colbert who didn’t seem to realize he was laughing at the president’s incoherence. Carvey was just getting warmed up and his expressions were priceless.

Carvey went on mocking Biden’s memory: “He knew it floated. He told Bob Woodward — Joanne Woodward. He told Bob Redford, excuse me. You know. But folks, I care. I care a lot. People are suffering. And I do, and my mother said, ‘That’s the way the cookie is.'”

“I love it,” Colbert cluelessly stated. “That is so beautiful.”

Carvey said that doing an impression of an elderly Biden getting “a little confused sometimes” “doesn’t mean you’re attacking him personally.” Then he proceeded to do another impression. Biden was roasted as the comic alluded to “the list” the president uses during remarks. He even took on the “dog-faced pony soldier” insult from Biden’s 2020 campaign.

He also portrayed Dr. Anthony Fauci as a tough guy. “Here’s my origin on my Fauci,” Carvey stated. “I read about him on a basketball team. He’s 5-foot-4. They said he was a really rough and tumble guard. He’d fly into the stands, he was always fighting. And then I looked at him, he’s been the head of the epidemiology or whatever it is for 40 years, he’s gotta have sharp elbows. And I thought, underneath that nice-guy scientist, he’s kind of a tough guy.”

The Fauci impression as a Godfather figure was a bit of a stretch but funny nonetheless: “You know what, don’t f— with me? You know what I’m saying? You can do whatever you want, I don’t know who I am. But you know what? From the bottom of my heart, Stephen, go f— yourself.”

Twitter exploded with calls from Carvey’s fans demanding that Saturday Night Live bring him back to portray Biden on a regular basis. Others just marveled at his talent as a real comedian. He previously starred on the show from 1986 to 1993 and famously imitated President George H.W. Bush. Jim Carrey was the last one to imitate Biden on SNL where former President Donald Trump was roasted regularly.
