Apples do sometimes fall far from the tree

Case in point: One of Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s three daughters, Porter, is a far-left radical who believes, among other things, that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh enjoys so-called “white male privilege.”

She also thinks, as she tweeted on Election Day, that even “if Biden wins, we still need to be in the streets. White supremacy, patriarchy and oligarchy won’t go quietly, and they’re real good at adapting. To paraphrase FDR, we’ll need to make him do it.”

After the tweets went viral this week, Porter made her Twitter account private.

What remains unexplained is how in the world she became like this. According to The List, a women’s news and lifestyle site, it’s entirely because of her mother.

“Porter’s mother is Sherrill Redmon, who divorced McConnell in 1980, a year after Porter was born. Redmon holds a Ph.D. in philosophy, and after leaving her marriage and the state of Kentucky, she took over a women’s history archive at Smith College in Massachusetts, where she collaborated with the famous Gloria Steinem on the Voices of Feminism Oral History Project,” the site notes.

And so Porter’s mother is basically a radical “progressive” feminist, i.e., the irrational type that hate men yet believe men in dresses should have more rights than women.

Porter has apparently followed in her mother’s footsteps and “built a career upon touting views decidedly opposite to those of her famous father.”

“Porter earned a Master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from Williams College before beginning an impressive career in advocacy and activism,” The List notes.

Far left-wing advocacy and activism, to be exact.

As a result, she’s become a hero to the left much like former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s booty-shaking daughter Claudia.

“So when I see Claudia Conway, daughter of Trump spokesperson Kellyanne Conway and Lincoln Project founder George Conway, post TikTok videos opposing her parents’ conservative politics; Mitch McConnell’s daughter Porter McConnell leading Take On Wall Street; or the daughter of a Michigan congressional candidate publicly implore Michiganders on Twitter not to vote for her father, I feel a rush of fellow-feeling,” a left-wing media writer enthusiastically wrote for InStyle magazine two months ago.

These women aren’t alone. Even Rudy Giuliani’s daughter is a far-leftist — one who penned a piece for Vanity Fair magazine in October encouraging Americans to end the president’s “reign of terror.”

“In 2016, I realized I needed to speak out in a more substantial way than just debating my dad in private (especially since I wasn’t getting anywhere with that), so I publicly supported Hillary Clinton and began canvassing for congressional candidates. … It’s taken persistence and nerve to find my voice in politics, and I’m using it now to ask you to stand with me in the fight to end Donald Trump’s reign of terror,” she wrote.

This makes for at least four daughters of Republican Party figures who’ve turned to the dark side. Conversely, the son of blue-dog liberal Fox News commentator Juan Williams wound up turning to the right side.

Speaking with Yahoo News in 2014, Williams’ son, Rafi, explained why.

“I was always around politics. The conversation at my dinner table was always about politics. My brother was very politically aware. He ran for office. He worked for [former U.S. Senator] Norm Coleman. He’s much older than I am, so I was always the young kid at the table, so I did not set the conversation. But I didn’t really know where I stood until high school, when I started to think about it more and understand what it was,” he said.

And for me it came down to, I was raised to be fiscally responsible, to put family first, to go get what you want — go achieve your American dream, no one’s going to hand it to you — and my dad’s very religious. My family’s religious. So when I took my personal values and looked at which political spectrum I fell on, it was clear that I was conservative and a Republican.”

Porter McConnell meanwhile decided it makes more sense in life to attack men for their fictional “privilege” while simultaneously siding with a presidential candidate, Joe Biden, who has a history of touching and sniffing women inappropriately.

And this decision apparently makes her a hero to liberal Democrats …
