Conservative author and pundit Candace Owens ripped into left-wing pop culture for deifying certain behaviors while vilifying others, imploring someone to “make it make sense.”
“So…Rachel Dolezal pretending to be black is a problem. @hilariabaldwin pretending to be Spanish is a problem. But grown men pretending to be female and destroying women in physical sports competitions is ‘stunning and brave’” she wrote, adding: Make it make sense.”
For those of you that need a map:
Hilaría Baldwin is NOT Spanish.
Rachel Dolezal will NEVER be black.
A biological man is NOT a woman.
And a biological female will never be a man.Playing pretend is playing pretend. Even if you commit to it for years

I think throwing the word phobic on the end of anything and everything that someone doesn’t agree with because it goes against their values is considered a trend. 🤔

This applies to any American who claims to be from another country because of their descendants but who have never even set foot in the country. Just because you share DNA with someone who came from Italy, doesn’t mean you’re Italian.
You’re American…— Daykeart (@daykeart) December 30, 2020
Thank you Candace, please help stop this misogynistic rot happening in North America. We are not standing for it here in the UK. Keep shouting it out, it’s so dangerous and will destroy the lives and careers of all women, not just in sport. Thank you! @A_Womans_Place_UK

Dolezal, who at one time was a branch president for the NAACP, a black civil rights organization, raised eyebrows in 2015 when she said she identifies as a black person, though she was born to two white parents of European descent.
Warning: Strong language
“It wasn’t like the honest thing to do is say, ‘I’m white’ because race is a social construct,” Dolezal told The Guardian in 2017. “And this gave me this great sense of internal freedom: I wasn’t actually all f**ked up. I was actually on to something this whole time.
“I’m not going to stoop and apologize and grovel and feel bad about it. I would just be going back to when I was little and had to be what everybody else told me I should be – to make them happy,” she added.
Dolezal grew up in Montana, suntanned, wore traditionally black hairstyles, and checked “black” on employment and health documents.
Baldwin — the wife of actor Alec Baldwin — caused a stir in recent days after it was discovered she has been faking her Spanish accent while lying about her name and her heritage for several years.
“If we can decide to be the ethnicity of where our parents took us on summer vacations, then I have a Saugatuckian accent as a descendant of a long line of Michiganders,” comedienne Kathy Griffin wrote on Twitter this week, mocking Hilaria’s false claims that she spent some of her childhood in Boston (where’s she’s from) and Spain.

Hilaria Baldwin’s bio on her agency’s speakers website claimed that she was born in Mallorca, Spain until it was wiped on Monday, Page Six reported.
As for biological men who say they identify as females competing in women’s sports, Owens isn’t the only one who objects.
Outgoing Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) has introduced a bill with several Republican co-sponsors that amends Title IX by prohibiting biological males from being able to participate in all-female sports competitions at the primary school and collegiate levels.
Specifically, the “Protect Women’s Sports Act” makes it a violation for institutions that receive federal funding to “permit a person whose biological sex at birth is Maile, to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls.”
“Title IX was a historic provision championed by Hawaii’s own Congresswoman Patsy Mink in order to provide equal opportunity for women and girls in high school and college sports,” Gabbard said in a statement. “It led to a generational shift that impacted countless women, creating life-changing opportunities for girls and women that never existed before.”
“However, Title IX is being weakened by some states who are misinterpreting Title IX, creating uncertainty, undue hardship, and lost opportunities for female athletes. Our legislation protects Title IX’s original intent which was based on the general biological distinction between men and women athletes based on sex,” Gabbard added. “It is critical that the legacy of Title IX continues to ensure women and girls in sports have the opportunity to compete and excel on a level playing field.”
