This is CNN …

On Friday the pseudo “news” network known as CNN allowed a guest to smear President Donald Trump’s supporters as “domestic terrorists.”

The guest, “Art of the Deal” ghostwriter Tony Schwartz, received no pushback from far-left CNN commentator and pretend “journalist” Brianna Keilar.

Schwartz made the remarks while sharing the bizarre, irrational and potentially dangerous theory that the United States is currently embroiled in a civil war.

“What I would say is we are already in a civil war. We have been in one for quite some time. That’s the nature of the polarization. And there is no question that we have two very, very divided sides who feel very, very strongly,” he said.

“And so I think the only real question is, if Trump loses based on the voting, and if he disputes it and if he rallies the supporters behind it, will that civil war turn even more violent than it has been already?”

FYI, the “violence” thus far has emanated almost exclusively from left-wing extremists affiliated with the left-wing extremist groups Black Lives Matter and Antifa.

“And I do see, as others have said, I do see the period between Election Day and inauguration of the next president as being an especially dangerous period,” Schwartz continued.

Because I do think that the — that Trump’s base includes a significant number of domestic terrorists, people who are capable of doing very irrational things in the face of feeling thwarted.

In response, Keillar said, “Tony, thank you for your perspective.”

Smearing the millions of Americans who support the president as “domestic terrorists” is the height of extremist rhetoric, yet apparently, this sort of talk is perfectly acceptable at CNN, a network that frequently complains about Trump’s indecency.

To be fair, CNN isn’t alone in espousing dangerous rhetoric even as it accuses Trump supporters of being a danger to democracy.

Also on Friday, Dana Milbank of The Washington Post published an inflammatory column titled, “This is not a drill. The Reichstag is burning.” In the piece, he directly compared the president to deceased Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

He further quoted from a left-wing historian who claims the president’s criticisms of BLM’s documented extremismis very similar to the language Hitler used.”

Remember, this is coming from segments of the mainstream media — the same segments who’ve watched with disinterest as left-wing extremists have laid havoc to communities across the nation.

In a column also posted Friday, self-identified conservative commentator Kevin D. Williamson noted that the media’s wild accusations are being trotted out “at the very moment when Democratic mobs in Democratic cities [are] burning everything they can get their hands on, shooting police officers and other people, rioting and promising more riots, egged on by elected Democrats who promise to gut the Constitution in the pursuit of partisan political advantage.”

Republicans are always right on the edge of political violence, or so we are told — by people who refuse to acknowledge that Democrats have gone over what edge. Democrats can shoot, loot, and burn all day, and it’s a ‘mostly peaceful protest,‘” he added.

Or a “fiery but mostly peaceful protest,” as CNN recently put it.

But it would be unfair to suggest that every media outlet behaves similarly. On Friday again, in fact, one liberal media figure from CBS News bravely called out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for denigrating the president’s associates as “henchmen.”

Speaking with CBS’s Gayle King, Pelosi defended her desire for Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden to not debate the president by stating, “The president has no fidelity to fact or truth, and actually in his comments the last few days, no fidelity to the Constitution. … He and his henchmen are a danger to our democracy.”

This rhetoric troubled King.

Speaker Pelosi, that is what people say is a problem. Your language to some is just as egregious as what they’re saying, by calling the President’s people henchmen. Some could say, that’s just as insulting as what he’s saying about you,” she said.

Talk about a rare sight. Pelosi is so accustomed to being treated with kid gloves that she tends to snap whenever a journalist actually challenges her.

The speaker’s anger stemmed from confusion that erupted after the president was asked by a reporter during a White House briefing Wednesday whether he’ll “commit to making sure that there is a peaceful transferal of power after the election.”

The president replied in his customarily scatterbrained manner, triggering accusations from the left that he was refusing to peacefully step down.

But the president never said “no.” Instead, he started ranting about his legitimate concerns about mail-in ballots and about how disputes over them may have to be resolved by the Supreme Court before the 2020 election may formally conclude.

Clarifying his remarks a day later on Fox News Radio, the president again reiterated his concerns about ballots but added matter-of-factly that if the Supreme Court ultimately rules in Biden’s favor, he’ll accept that without question.

Despite all this, so-called “journalists” and Democrat politicians alike remain convinced that if Trump loses the election, he’ll refuse to step down and a full-fledged civil war will erupt because his supporters are a bunch of “domestic terrorists” …

Just for clarification, who are the crazy extremists again!?
