Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (a.k.a. – the Bronx Bolshevik) and other supporters of the Marxist Black Lives Matter movement say the proposed $1 billion NYPD budget cut isn’t enough.
Instead, AOC and BLM activists want to totally defund the police, which basically means getting rid of them altogether.
Ocasio-Cortez and other leftists are pushing for this inane move even as crime has surged in black/brown neighborhoods across New York City amid police pullbacks.
After NYC’s Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio announced plans to cut $1 billion from the New York Police Department’s $6 billion budget, AOC released this statement:
“Defunding police means defunding police. It does not mean budget tricks or funny math. It does not mean moving school police officers from the NYPD budget to the Department of Education’s budget so the exact same police remain in schools.
It does not mean counting cuts in overtime as cuts, even as NYPD ignores every attempt by City Council to curb overtime spending and overspends on overtime anyways.
These proposed ‘cuts’ to the NYPD budget are a disingenuous illusion. This is not a victory. The fight to defund policing continues.”
Yesterday, NYC lawmakers approved a budget that will shift $1 billion from policing to programs that will help the black community.
NYC Council Speaker Corey Johnson echoed the sentiments of his anti-police comrade, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, saying the NYPD budget cuts don’t go far enough.
“This is just a starting point, not an ending point,” Johnson told reporters. “We need to go farther.”
Despite his support for Black Lives Matter’s push to defund the police, leftists vandalized Corey Johnson’s apartment, rang his doorbell all night, and harassed his boyfriend.
One Twitter user wryly noted: “Now he’s crying because the dog he turned vicious bit him.”

In addition to howling nonstop on cable TV and protesting on the streets, leftists imitated Seattle’s CHOP by constructing their own police-free zone at New York’s City Hall.
Ironically, the first thing the leftist mob did when they hijacked taxpayer-funded public property was to build a wall.
Keep in mind that these same geniuses raged that “walls were racist” when President Trump built a border wall to protect U.S. sovereignty.

In the three weeks that leftists have demanded defunding the police, there has been an alarming escalation in violent crimes across New York City — mostly in black/brown neighborhoods.
Until recently, NYC was consistently one of the safest big cities in America — thanks to the NYPD.
Now, New York is devolving into the crime pit it was in the 1970s.

While the Left mindlessly chants that “Black Lives Matter,” it is blacks who are dying, thanks to the “defund the police” movement.
Shootings and murders now off the charts in Chicago and NYC as cops stand down.
Perps and victims are almost exclusively black.

Why would any decent person want to become a cop when Democratic lawmakers won’t let the police arrest thugs who threaten them like this?
No one’s job should require them to tolerate verbal abuse, mob harassment, and in many cases, physical attacks/murder.

Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik said cutting the NYPD budget and demonizing cops will have catastrophic, deadly consequences for all law-abiding citizens.
“This is what happens when you embolden the criminal element,” Kerik said. “This is what happens when the thugs in the community realize that they can’t be arrested. Nobody is going to touch them. The cops are afraid to do their job.”
Kerik continued: “When you defund the police, you don’t let the police do their job, violent crime and murder is going to increase, and that’s what we are seeing. It happened for 20, 30, 40 years in Chicago. Now it’s gonna happen all over the country and the Democrats are allowing it to happen.”
