Ahmaud Arbery‘s mom, Wanda Cooper-Jones, praised President Trump for being “very compassionate” when he met with her and other black families during a closed-door meeting at the White House shortly before signing an executive order on police reform.
“I was very, very emotional throughout the whole conference,” Cooper-Jones told reporters. “[President Trump] was very compassionate. He showed major concern for all families. Not just one family, but for all families.”
She added: “President Trump was very receiving. He listened and addressed each and every family.”

President Trump later tweeted that Ahmaud Arbery’s mom is “A GREAT woman. Her son is looking down from heaven and is very proud of his wonderful and loving mom!!!”
A video showed Arbery being shot dead on Feb. 23 by former police officer Gregory McMichael and his son Travis McMichael. Both have since been arrested and charged with felony murder.
At the time, Arbery’s mom claimed her son was jogging through Georgia’s Satilla Shores neighborhood when the McMichaels shot him. In the months preceding the incident, videos appear to show Arbery repeatedly trespassing on a house that was under construction on Satilla Drive.
The mainstream media downplayed these facts and rabidly pushed the narrative that Arbery was shot to death because the McMichaels were racist.
Arbery’s death preceded the killing of George Floyd — the catalyst for the media-stoked race war, riots, and anti-police rhetoric.
After meeting with Ahmaud Arbery’s mom and other black families, President Trump signed an executive order on police reform that banned the use of chokeholds unless an officer’s life is at risk.
Predictably, Democrats and the left-wing media immediately criticized Trump. However, their silence was deafening when Barack Obama did little to address police reform or quell racial division during his eight years as president.
If anything, Obama escalated racial tensions between the police and black communities by immediately blaming “police brutality” for the 2014 shooting death of black youth Michael Brown.
Obama’s Justice Department (whose head was black Attorney General Eric Holder) later cleared white cop Darren Wilson of any wrongdoing in Brown’s shooting. However, race-baiting grievance mongers continue to treat Brown’s death as an example of “racist white cops.”
In 2014, a CNN panel promoted the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” lie concerning Brown’s shooting.
The media’s relentless fomenting of black rage fueled three days of riots in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014 and spawned the anti-police Black Lives Matters movement.
Ja’Ron Smith, the deputy assistant to President Trump, said the president’s actions trump the Left’s empty words.
Smith tweeted: “What speaks louder than anything are the words of the executive order. It accounted for ways that we can reform our system in a positive way along with law enforcement. This was a watershed moment for America.”

Fox News anchor Greg Gutfeld proposed a solution to the anti-police race wars: Have black cops respond when there’s a black suspect, and have white cops respond to white suspects. This way, you get rid of the “racist white cop” canard.
“I have a solution to end the society upheaval,” Gutfeld said. “When there is a black suspect, all white officers [should] recuse themselves and call in the nearest black officer who responds.”
Gutfeld continued: “Likewise, when there’s a white suspect, black officers recuse, and a white officer is called in. That way, it’s not about race.”
Gutfeld admitted that his idea is “terrible” because it divides society along race lines (which is what the Left is doing anyway).
But it would prevent the media-fomented race wars because it would remove “race from the equation” in policing and leave “only tactics and training.”

Greg noted that this media-driven narrative of “racist white cops” targeting black men is false and contradicted by the facts.
“There are 50 million police encounters a year,” Gutfeld said. “Out of that, there are 50 deaths of unarmed people. Some are black. More are white. That is an error rate of one per million. That’s an error rate of 0.0001%. That’s three times lower than what we accept in machine processing. It’s a one in a million chance and we are trying to bring that to zero in a million.”

Gutfeld said it’s impossible to have a zero error rate on anything. So having black cops deal with black suspects and white cops deal with white suspects is the only answer, he said.
“The downside is that black officers will be working in communities where there are higher crime rates. And there will be a higher demand for black officers, which means they should be paid more,” Gutfeld explained. “That’s also discriminating and that’s racist. But I will take discrimination when black cops are paid more in certain communities if it saves our society and gets rid of this racial narrative. It’s the only solution for this.”
