Hit the road, Jack! That’s the response of many Americans after a German government official lobbied Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to relocate to Germany amid the tech monopoly’s escalating feud with President Trump.

Basically, Twitter has begun censoring and doing bogus “fact-checks” on Trump’s tweets while continuing to allow left-wing politicians and media outlets to post inflammatory fake news.

Thomas Jarzombek is a commissioner with Germany’s Economic Affairs Ministry who oversees the digital industry. He tweeted: “Hey Twitter and Jack Dorsey, this is an invitation to move to Germany! Here you are free to criticize the government as well as to fight fake news.”

Jarzombek added: “We have a great startup and tech ecosystem, your company would be a perfect fit and I will open any doors for you!”

Millions of Americans would love if Dorsey accepted this gracious offer and left the United States.

Fact check: Despite Jarzombek’s false claim, you are not allowed to criticize the German government with impunity.

The German government censors and downplays crimes committed by its huge refugee population from the Middle East — especially vicious gang rapes — so left-wing Twitter would fit in perfectly there.

The feud between Twitter and President Trump has been heating up ever since the unregulated tech monopoly disingenuously “fact-checked” a Trump tweet warning about mail-in voter fraud (which has been well-documented over the years).

Twitter’s “Head of Site Integrity” — the guy responsible for fact-checking President Trump — is a left-wing Hillary donor with a history of anti-Trump rants.

Twitter’s partisan bias fueled volcanic backlash from free-speech proponents, who argued that it should not enjoy the protections of a neutral platform while editorializing tweets like a publisher.

In his executive order aimed at “preventing online censorship,” President Trump said it’s not right that a “small handful of powerful social-media monopolies controls a vast portion of all public and private communications in the United States.”

Trump continued: “They’ve had unchecked power to censor, restrict, edit, shape, hide, and alter virtually any form of communication between private citizens and large public audiences. There’s no precedent in American history for so small a number of corporations to control so large a sphere of human interaction.”

President Trump said with the election approaching, Americans cannot allow unregulated liberal tech monopolies (Twitter, Google, and Facebook) to exert unfettered control over public discourse because that is election interference.

“The choices that Twitter makes when it chooses to suppress, edit, blacklist, shadow-ban are editorial decisions,” Trump said. “In those moments, Twitter ceases to be a neutral public platform, and they become an editor with a viewpoint.”

Tech billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (who created Facebook with Mark Zuckerberg) agree that “fact-checking” makes you a publisher — not a neutral platform.

Social-media monopolies like Twitter have enjoyed a sweetheart liability shield based on the theory that they’re a neutral platform. But once it stops being neutral, it becomes a partisan publisher.

Accordingly, President Trump’s executive order calls for new regulations, under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, to remove the liability shields of social-media companies that censor speech.

This would make Twitter vulnerable to being sued for the defamatory tweets posted by its 275 million users. Defamation lawsuits can be very expensive.

“They’re not going to have that shield,” Trump said. “My executive order further instructs the Federal Trade Commission to prohibit social media companies from engaging in any deceptive acts or practices affecting commerce.”

President Trump also plans to cut off federal money to unregulated tech monopolies that choose to behave like left-wing publishers.

“I’m directing my administration to develop policies to ensure taxpayer dollars are not going into any social-media company that represses free speech,” Trump said. “The government spends billions of dollars on giving them money. They are rich enough.”
