Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims says she won’t enforce California’s lockdown of law-abiding residents because she’s too busy rearresting criminals who were released from jail under the left-wing state’s zero-bail policy.

Between leftist zero-bail policies and the mass release of criminals due to coronavirus fears, there has been an alarming surge in crimes, especially those committed by newly-released inmates.
Let this sink in: Democrat politicians are releasing criminals from jail — citing COVID-19 concerns — while placing law-abiding citizens under house arrest.
Sheriff Mims says it makes no sense to harass law-abiding Americans for going to the beach or exercising in the park under California’s extended lockdowns.
Fox News host Laura Ingraham remarked that “police all over the state are seeing criminals take advantage of this de facto, get-out-of-jail-free card.”
Ingraham noted that of the 711 criminals who were recently released in Fresno County pursuant to California’s zero-bail policy, 87 have been rearrested for committing additional crimes.
Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Sims says she’s so busy dealing with the “no-bail” crime wave that she can’t enforce the state’s coronavirus lockdown mandates.

Democrats and their media allies insist that the criminals being released from jail due to COVID concerns and pursuant to zero-bail policies are non-violent. But that’s not true.
Sheriff Mims said: “This zero-dollar bail means that many people who are arrested for auto theft, assault with a deadly weapon (with the intent to commit great body injury), elder abuse, child abuse — they automatically get released from California jails. This flies in the face of anything in my 41 years in law enforcement. It has nothing to do with public safety. It has everything to do with ignoring victims and giving inmates and people that commit crimes a free pass.”
Earlier this week, Sheriff Mims appeared on the Trevor Carey radio show, where she said she will not enforce lockdowns in Fresno County because it’s essentially harassment.
“We do not stop the public to find out what they’re doing when they’re not sheltering in place,” Mims said. “We’ve got our hands full trying to rearrest people that are released due to zero-dollar bail. We’ve got other things that are on our mind that are more important than stopping normally law-abiding citizens.”
Last month, a convicted child molester who was deemed a “high-risk sex offender” was rearrested just two weeks after being released from a California jail amid concerns about the spread of the coronavirus behind bars.

Rudy William Grajeda Magdaleno was one of seven “high-risk sex offenders” who were released from a prison in Orange County, California. At least four of those sex offenders were arrested again shortly after their release for committing other crimes.
Weeks before Magdaleno’s re-arrest, a Florida inmate who was released from jail was arrested again for allegedly murdering someone.
Joseph Edwards William was one of 100 inmates who had been released under an administrative order aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19 in Florida county prisons.

This week, Cornelius Haney was rearrested for allegedly murdering a 21-year-old woman named Heather Perry. Haney had been released from a Colorado prison in April amid coronavirus concerns.
If lockdowns are so effective at stemming COVID-19, why are inmates in jail (the ultimate “lockdown”) getting infected?
