California governor gavin newsom churches reopen
California governor Gavin Newsom banned church gatherings even though there is no “pandemic exception” to the Constitution.

California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom issued guidelines for reopening churches following President Trump’s call to reopen churches after declaring houses of worship “essential.”

California has a population of almost 40 million people. It has been under an indefinite lockdown since March 19, even though it has so far recorded 3,708 deaths attributed to the coronavirus.

Under Newsom’s new guidelines, churches and other houses of worship can reopen if they receive approval from county health officials. But they must:

  • Limit attendance to 25% of capacity or 100 people, whichever is less.
  • Observe social-distancing.
  • Wear face masks.
  • Set new cleaning protocols.
  • Limit singing and group recitations.

The new rules also state that “upon 21 days, the California Department of Public Health will review the impact of these imposed limits on public health and provide further direction.”

In other words, the government will tell you — the American taxpayer who pays their salaries — if and how you can practice your religion.

Gavin Newsom released the guidance in response to furious backlash over left-wing governors’ oppression of religious freedom using the coronavirus as an excuse.

Last week, President Trump urged governors to reopen churches, saying “it’s not right” to allow liquor stores and abortion clinics to stay open during the coronavirus lockdowns while closing churches.

Many people wonder why murdering babies and buying beer is considered “essential” while going to church is considered non-essential.

Reminder: There is no “pandemic exception” to the United States Constitution.

While law-abiding, church-going Americans remain under house arrest, Democratic lawmakers are releasing child molesters and rapists from jail.

Governor Newsom is facing mounting opposition from typically left-wing California residents, who are disgusted with his indefinite lockdown, which have proven deadly.

In California and around the United States, there has been a massive spike in suicides, substance abuse, domestic violence, and child abuse as a result of the extended lockdowns.

On May 19, a consortium of 600 physicians (who actually practice medicine, unlike government bureaucrat Anthony Fauci) wrote to President Trump, urging him to end the nationwide lockdowns, saying they will have catastrophic consequences for the country.

A Doctor a Day Letter – Signed by Fox News on Scribd

The emotional letter from 600 doctors states:

“Thousands of physicians in all specialties and from all States would like to express our gratitude for your leadership. We write to you today to express our alarm over the exponentially growing negative health consequences of the national shutdown.

We are alarmed at what appears to be the lack of consideration for the future health of our patients. The downstream health effects are being massively under-estimated and under-reported. This is an order of magnitude error.

It is impossible to overstate the short, medium, and long-term harm to people’s health with a continued shutdown. In medical terms, the shutdown was a mass casualty incident.

The millions of casualties of a continued shutdown will be hiding in plain sight, but they will be called alcoholism, homelessness, suicide, heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure. In youths it will be called financial instability, unemployment, despair, drug addiction, unplanned pregnancies, poverty, and abuse.”
