In another illustration of the Darwin Awards, a 60-something man has died and his wife was hospitalized after self-medicating with chloroquine phosphate — a toxic chemical used to clean fish tanks — in a bid to prevent the coronavirus.
The Arizona couple ingested the chemicals (without consulting a doctor) in the hope that it would protect them against the coronavirus.
Predictably, leftists immediately blamed President Trump, who — along with several medical experts — had expressed optimism about hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malaria drug which showed a 100% cure rate for the coronavirus in a 36-patient French study.
For the record, the President never told anyone to ingest fish tank cleaner or anything else.
Trump also underscored that SCIENTISTS (not lay people) are currently studying the use of chloroquine to assess its efficacy against the Wuhan coronavirus.

The couple was admitted to the Banner Health Hospital in Arizona after they started vomiting within 30 minutes of consuming the toxic fish tank cleaner — which is not suitable for human consumption.
Banner Health issued a statement advising Americans not to self-medicate in their panicked attempts to prevent or cure the coronavirus on their own: “Given the uncertainty around COVID-19, we understand that people are trying to find new ways to prevent or treat this virus. “But self-medicating is not the way to do so.”
Naturally, NBC News pounced on the story in a transparent attempt to attack President Trump. The wife recounted: “I saw it sitting on the back shelf and thought, ‘Hey, isn’t that the stuff they’re talking about on TV?'”
The couple then mixed the fish tank cleaner with a liquid and drank it, hoping it would prevent them from contracting the coronavirus.
“We were afraid of getting sick,” the woman told NBC News (listen to audio below).
She said within 20 minutes, she became dizzy. “I started vomiting,” the woman recounted. “My husband started developing respiratory problems.”

Hydroxychloroquine is a decades-old drug that has successfully treated malaria.
A 36-patient study recently conducted by a French doctor showed a 100% cure rate for the coronavirus using hydroxychloroquine in combination with Zithromax Z-Pak.
Last week, a Florida man who had the coronavirus and was on his deathbed took hydroxychloroquine — in consultation with his doctor — and was cured.

On March 24, New York State started testing the drug combo to combat the coronavirus, under orders by New York’s Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Predictably, the left-wing media has heaped praise on Gov. Cuomo for doing the same thing that President Trump has urged, which is to conduct large-scale studies on the drug.

While leftists with pathological Trump Derangement Syndrome blame the President for the idiotic actions of random people who don’t consult doctors, Trump supporters fired back.
Former CIA analyst Buck Sexton tweeted: “NBC News wants you to be careful about hearing things Trump did not actually say about a drug and then take a completely different drug (actually, a fish tank cleaner) and without asking any medical advice from a doctor, or even doing a google search first, drink the cleaner.”

The Daily Wire’s Jessica Fletcher quipped: “I really didn’t expect tonight to devolve into defending the President from being blamed for people drinking fish tank cleaning chemicals, but 2020 is a special kind of stupid.”

Reminder: Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi was never blamed for encouraging people to eat poisonous Tide Pods.
“Because she didn’t…Just like Trump didn’t encourage anyone to eat Fish Tank Chemicals.”

Fish tank cleaner is NOT for human consumption!
This is what they ingested. Notice it says NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION, but the media is trying to spin this as saying “Trump is telling the public it’s ok to eat fish tank cleaner” pic.twitter.com/nlIfalbSCX
