President Donald Trump made his first official trip to India where he and first lady Melania Trump were enthusiastically greeted from the moment they arrived.

The president expressed his gratitude for the “spectacular welcome” during his speech at a cricket stadium in Ahmadabad where he spoke before an amazing crowd of more than 110,000 people.

“I am pleased to announce that tomorrow our representatives will sign deals to sell over $3 billion in the absolute finest state of the art military helicopters and other equipment to the Indian armed forces,” Trump said at the Sardar Patel Stadium.

Mrs. Trump was celebrated by British columnist Katie Hopkins who noted the stark difference between the Trumps’ visit to India and that of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose 2018 disastrous trip was marked by major fashion blunders.

Cheering crowds waving American flags greeted the president’s motorcade in Ahmedabad, with billboards showing off images of him and the first lady.

Trump was met by a “camelcade” near the entrance to the stadium where camels flanked the way in, according to Fox News.

Social media accounts for the country’s political party, India officials and news outlets documented the eye-popping crowd gathered inside the largest cricket stadium in the world.

“Macho Man” by the Village People was played before Modi and Trump came out on the stage, holding up each other’s arms.

Modi, who was welcomed by Trump with the “Howdy Modi” event held in Houston last September, introduced the president in his speech as a great friend to India and himself.

Trump told the crowd he and the first lady traveled 8,000 miles to deliver a message to the people of India,  thanking Modi for the “stunning display of India’s culture and kindness.”

He described India as a place “where millions upon millions of Hindus and Muslims and Sikhs and Jains, Buddhists, Christians and Jews worship side by side in harmony.”

“India is a country that proudly embraces freedom, liberty, individual rights, the rule of law and the dignity of every human being,” the president added.

His references to India’s cultural achievements received cheers from the crowds.

“All over the planet, people take great joy in scenes of bhangra, music, dance, romance and drama… and classic Indian films like DDLJ and Sholay… You cheer on great cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli,” he said. “This is the country that produces nearly 2,000 movies a year from the hub of genius and creativity known as Bollywood.”

Many took to Twitter to note Trump’s triumphant visit, as in the video posted by Turning Point USA’s Benny Johnson:

One fan’s video went viral after the president retweeted it:

The president and first lady also flew to Agra where they were treated to a sunset tour of the Taj Mahal.

The president’s trip will include a stop in New Delhi on Tuesday where he is scheduled to take part in ceremonial events and meet with U.S. embassy staffers.
