President Trump’s outreach for more support from Indian-American voters seems to be paying off.

At an amazing rally in Houston, Texas on Sunday, the president was greeted by a 50,000-strong audience of Indian-Americans cheering and chanting “USA!” as he held hands with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

One of largest crowds to greet Trump attended the “Howdy, Modi: Shared Dreams Bright Futures” event at NRG Stadium, after the Indian leader invited the president to join him following their meeting at the G-7 summit in France in August.

Naturally, the liberal media all but ignored the event and Modi’s much-praised introduction of the U.S. president.

Modi called Trump “a great American president” and “a friend of India” at the rally, telling the cheering crowd the U.S. president has a “strong resolve to make America great again.”

“His name is familiar to every person on the planet,” Modi said. “He was a household name and very popular even before he went on to occupy the highest office in this great country … from CEO to commander-in-chief, from the boardroom to the Oval Office, from studio to the global stage. … He has left a deep and lasting impact everywhere.”

“I admire him for something more: his sense of liberty, his passion for America, a belief in American future and a strong resolve to make American great again,” he added.

The crowd, with many in turbans and traditional Indian clothing, waved Indian and American flags during the event.

“You have never had a better friend as president than President Donald Trump,” the president told the approving crowd. “We thank you. We love you. I want you to know my administration is fighting for you each and every day.”

The president expressed his “profound gratitude” to the Indian-American population in the U.S.

“You enrich our culture, you uphold our values, you uplift our communities and you are truly proud to be American and we are proud to have you as Americans, ” he said.

Trump spoke about relations with India and upcoming projects and deals that are in the works as he also touted defense partnerships.

“Both India and U.S. also understand that to keep our communities safe, we must protect our border,” he said as he also thanked Indian and American military service members who work to “safeguard our freedom.”

“We stand proudly in defense of liberty and we are committed to protecting innocent civilians from the threat of radical Islamic terrorism,” Trump said, eliciting a roar from the crowd and a standing ovation.

Trump also spoke of the first-ever NBA game scheduled to take place in India.

“And very soon India will have access to another world-class American product: NBA basketball. Wow. Sounds good. That sounds good,” Trump said.

“Next week, thousands of people will gather in Mumbai to watch the first-ever NBA basketball game in India. Am I invited Mr. Prime Minister?’ he asked Modi, who replied with a smile and nod. “I may come. Be careful, I may come.”

Social media users shared videos. photos and reactions to the event on Twitter.
