Corey Lewandowski blasted House Judiciary Committee Democrats after a sometimes fiery hearing.
The former Trump campaign manager spoke with Fox News host Martha MacCallum following the lengthy hearing Tuesday, slamming the Democratic-run hearings as “a disservice the American people.”

“The far-left wing of the Democratic Party has to have these hearings to protect themselves in their congressional districts from further left progressives who want to take them out in their primary races,” Lewandowski said on “The Story With Martha MacCallum” Tuesday.
“This is all politics, and the truth is it’s a disservice the American people,” he added.
“Why did you decide to go? Did you feel… that you had to, because of the subpoena?” MacCallum asked.
“I’ve always said, I will come and answer questions,” he replied. ” I have nothing to hide because we never committed any crimes in the campaign. We never colluded with anyone.”
Lewandowski criticized the process, saying Democrats “changed the rules of the House so that not only members of Congress could ask me questions, but consultants to the committee who were brought in just for the impeachment proceeding could start asking questions. ”
“It’s a very unfair process,” he said.
Lewandowski locked horns with Rep. Jerry Nadler during the contentious hearing which Democrats apparently hoped could tie President Trump to Russian collusion and obstruction allegations despite the report and testimony of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

MacCallum asked Lewandowski for his reaction to Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier’s suggestion that he be fined for contempt.
“Why don’t you go and bring Jim Comey back, who we know has perjured himself in front of Congress?” he responded, dismissing the California lawmaker’s remarks.
“Why don’t you take the opportunity and have a testimony with Michael Horowitz, who wrote the inspector general’s report? Why don’t you fix the problem of illegal immigration which is killing Americans because they’re coming across the border illegally?” he asked. “These are actually the obligations of the House Judiciary Committee. But instead, they want to bring me forward, and Jackie Speier wants to fine me? For what? Coming to Congress and testifying in open Congress under oath? I’m happy to do that.”
Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz also blasted Democrats for questioning the wrong people and wasting everyone’s time.
“So, Mr. Lewandowski, do you have a thought as to why we continue to engage in a charade that is overwhelmingly opposed by the American people and fundamentally misunderstood by my democrat colleagues?” Gaetz asked Lewandowski during Tuesday’s hearing.
“You know, congressman, I think they hate this president more than they love their country,” Lewandowski answered.
During the Fox News interview, MacCallum noted that Democratic Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York commented on Lewandowski’s potential run for Senate in New Hampshire, and “suggested that maybe that was why you were there.”
“Look, I was subpoenaed to show up!” he laughed. “This wasn’t like, hey, Corey Lewandowski is going to launch his Senate campaign in front of the House Judiciary Committee…But what the congressmen failed to articulate was I was compelled by a lawful subpoena to show up today, and that is what I did.”
The president called out the Democrats in a tweet Wednesday, calling their actions “shameful.”
As Corey Lewandowski stated very clearly yesterday in front of the House Judiciary Committee, President Trump didn’t do anything wrong or illegal. But they all know that. The Democrats are hurting our Country, and getting nothing done. Shameful! @CLewandowski_ @foxandfriends

Lewandowski tweeted his thanks to Trump following his testimony on Tuesday.
Thank you @realDonaldTrump. No collusion no obstruction — the American people know it, and lll continue to remind them. #Senate2020. #StandwithCorey https://t.co/l157pZLgqV

“They can have the opportunity to rake me over the coals… to remind the American people what I already know and have always said, there was no collusion, no obstruction,” he told MacCallum, hinting at his potential Senate run. “I think the people of New Hampshire deserve new leadership and I will make a decision very soon if I want to run for the U.S. Senate.”
The Fox News host asked what he thought of the “political optics” for Democrats in their relentless pursuit of finding something to take down the president.
“The American people don’t want this,” he said, adding that if Democrats had enough votes to impeach the president, they would have already done so.
“But only one-third of their caucus is supporting this, which is basically the same amount of the American people who support this,” Lewandowski explained. “Sixty-five percent of the American people know what I already know: The president didn’t commit any crimes. He didn’t collude with any foreign entities, and didn’t try to stop the Mueller investigation.”
