Democrat Jerry Nadler, the chair of the House Judiciary Committee, is so desperate to impeach President Donald Trump that he’s reviving the old “hush-money payments” narrative concerning porn star Stormy Daniels.

Instead of fixing America’s illegal-immigration crisis or addressing the deadly opioid epidemic, Nadler plans to launch another sham investigation — this time into Trump’s alleged role in paying “hush money” to silence Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal.

Democrats claim that Trump’s then-lawyer, Michael Cohen, had paid hush money to Daniels and McDougal in 2016 to stay quiet about their alleged one-night stands with Trump in 2006 (10 years before he entered politics).

Naturally, the left-wing Washington Post breathlessly insists that the alleged hush-money payments are potentially impeachable offenses. This time, leftists are claiming that Trump obstructed justice in the investigation of the alleged hush payments.

This is a new approach to the “hush money” narrative because the Left’s initial claims that the alleged payments were campaign-finance violations failed in epic fashion.

Trump allegedly had a one-night stand with Stormy Daniels in 2006 and also allegedly had a 2006 affair with Karen McDougal. Let this sink in: The sanctimonious Democrats are upset that Donald Trump might have had sex with two hot women 13 years ago.

According to the Washington Post:

“House Democrats plan to make President Trump’s alleged involvement in a 2016 scheme to silence two women who claimed they had affairs with him a major investigative focus this fall, picking up where federal prosecutors left off in a case legal experts say could have led to additional indictments.

The hush-money inquiry will open a new chapter in the House’s months-long consideration of whether to draft articles of impeachment against the president.

As part of the probe, Democrats plan to explore whether the investigation was stymied or obstructed. The Judiciary Committee is also considering as a potential witness David Pecker, the chairman and CEO of American Media Inc., the parent company of the National Enquirer, which admitted making the payment to McDougal.”

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz has called the manufactured media hysteria much ado about nothing. Dershowitz is a lifelong liberal who voted for Hillary Clinton.

Dershowitz even suggested that Stormy Daniels should be prosecuted for extortion for demanding payment over the alleged one-night stand she had with Trump in 2006.

“It is absolutely textbook extortion,” Dershowitz told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. “There ought to be a prosecution of any person — man or woman — who approaches any candidate or anybody else and says, ‘Unless you pay me money, I’m going to reveal a sex act that occurred.’ That is absolute classic extortion.”

Flashback: This is what Stormy Daniels’ extortion schemes got her: She was ordered to pay almost $300,000 of Trump’s legal fees.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — the leader of the Democratic Party — has repeatedly warned Dems to stop screeching about impeachment, saying it’s alienating millions of centrist Americans.

Pelosi expressed concern that if Democrats keep beating the impeachment drums, voters will punish them by voting Democrats out of office in 2020. This is what happened to Republicans in 2000 amid their impeachment proceedings against Democratic President Bill Clinton.

Clueless freshman lawmakers like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Rashida Tlaib are foaming at the mouth demanding impeachment because they apparently think that if you impeach Trump, you remove him from office. But that ain’t how it works.

Even if the Democrat-led House of Representatives voted to impeached Trump, the Republican-led Senate would have to convict him before he’s impeached. And even if Trump were impeached, that doesn’t automatically lead to his removal.

Case in point: Democratic presidents Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson were actually were impeached but weren’t removed from office. Why? Because their impeachment trials failed to gain a two-thirds majority vote in the Senate.

In fact, there has never been a U.S. president removed from office using the impeachment process. Nancy Pelosi knows this, and that’s why she’s steering clear of it. Impeachment is political theater, nothing more. And a massive waste of taxpayer money.
