Nancy Pelosi opposes impeachment, reportedly tells Dems she’d rather see Trump ‘in prison’

Nancy Pelosi — the leader of the Democratic Party — is facing mounting pressure from Congressional Democrats to launch impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

But Pelosi doesn’t want to impeach Trump. Why? Because she’d rather defeat him in the 2020 election and see him prosecuted and end up “in prison.” (lotsa luck with that, toots.)

Pelosi — the Speaker of the Democrat-led House of Representatives — allegedly made the remarks during a meeting with House Judiciary chairman Jerry Nadler and several other Dems who are rabidly pushing for impeachment.

Nancy Pelosi: ‘I don’t want to see him impeached’

However, Pelosi has refused so far, saying she’d rather beat President Trump at the polls in 2020 and then let him get prosecuted for his alleged crimes.

“I don’t want to see him impeached; I want to see him in prison,” Pelosi said, according to anonymous Democrats who leaked the quote to Politico.

Earth to libs: Impeachment doesn’t lead to removal from office

Pelosi’s reluctance to launch impeachment proceedings spotlights her decades of experience in Washington.

Clueless freshman lawmakers like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Rashida Tlaib are foaming at the mouth demanding impeachment because they apparently think that if you impeach Trump, you remove him from office. But that ain’t how it works.

Even if the Democrat-led House of Representatives voted to impeached Trump, the Republican-led Senate would have to convict him before he’s impeached. And even if Trump were impeached, that doesn’t automatically lead to his removal.

Case in point: Democratic presidents Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson were actually were impeached but weren’t removed from office. Why? Because their impeachment trials failed to gain a two-thirds majority vote in the Senate.

In fact, there has never been a U.S. president removed from office using the impeachment process. Nancy Pelosi knows this, and that’s why she’s steering clear of impeachment.

Impeachment is expensive, toothless political theater

Moreover, Pelosi is aware that most Americans do not want impeachment because they saw how it divided the country when Republicans tried to impeach Bill Clinton. It wasted millions of dollars in taxpayer money and still failed to remove Clinton from office.

Impeachment is nothing more than toothless political theater bankrolled by American taxpayers. And while that’s going on, Congress does nothing to help Americans, such as address the:

  • Illegal immigration crisis.
  • Homelessness.
  • Poverty.
  • Opioid epidemic.
  • Crumbling infrastructure.

Most Americans are centrists, not far-left radicals

As BizPac Review reported, Nancy Pelosi warned her fellow leftists to stop screeching about impeachment and to rein in their radical rhetoric. Otherwise, she warns, Democrats will surely be steamrolled by Trump in 2020.

Pelosi says pandering to centrist Americans was how Democrats won back the House of Representatives in the November 2018 mid-term elections. “Own the center-left, own the mainstream,” she said.

The media constantly squawks about impeachment and socialism because the divisive rhetoric boosts their TV ratings and page views. But in reality, most Americans are moderate centrists — not radicals to the left or right. It’s just that extremists get the most press attention.

Newbies in Congress like AOC and Rashida Tlaib screech nonstop about impeaching Trump. But Pelosi — who has been in Congress for 32 years — knows that type of rhetoric will alienate millions of moderate centrist voters.

This is especially important since Robert Mueller found no evidence of collusion and insufficient evidence of obstruction of justice — the two main arguments that Democrats had ranted about to support Trump’s impeachment.
