‘Elections have consequences’: Past comes back to bite Feinstein as she fumes over Trump’s 9th Circuit picks

Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein, who spent months trying to block Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation via dubious allegations of sexual assault, is upset that elections have consequences — not to mention that she’s not getting what she wants.

Her growing exasperation stems from President Donald Trump’s nominations this week of three judges — Daniel Bress, Daniel Collins and Kenneth Kiyul — to the currently left-wing Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal. Two of the judges are apparently not to her liking.

“I am deeply disappointed that the White House has chosen to re-nominate Daniel Collins and Kenneth Lee to the Ninth Circuit,” Feinstein wrote on Twitter following the nominations.

“We made clear our opposition to these individuals and told the White House we wanted to work together to come to consensus on a new package of nominees,” she added, referencing her partner in Democrat-approved “crime,” fellow California Sen. Kamala Harris.

And as proof as to why the Trump administration should compromise with her and Harris, she wrote that the two had even “even identified candidates selected by the White House we could support to demonstrate our willingness to work cooperatively.”

“[W]e have had productive conversations about district court vacancies, and believe we have found a balanced compromise where we will be able to fill the vacancies and support a number of candidates,” both Feinstein and Harris added in a formal statement.

Look at the full statement below:

Compromising in exchange for nothing is called losing, and Feinstein should already know all about losing given as the Democrats lost the 2018 midterm elections vis-à-vis the Senate.

Republicans captured two seats, while the Democrats lost two, despite expectations that the Democrat Party would retake the Senate. Those expectations had been backed by polls up until Feinstein pulled her Kavanaugh stunt. That stunt wound up triggering the “Kavanaugh effect.”

“Incumbent Senate Democrats in battleground states who opposed the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination appeared to have paid a price on Election Day, with senators Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Indiana’s Joe Donnelly, Claire McCaskill of Missouri and Florida’s Bill Nelson all suffering defeat,” Fox News reported following the elections last November.

“In fact, every Democrat incumbent who opposed Kavanaugh in states rated ‘toss up’ by Fox News lost their race. In contrast, the lone Democrat who voted for Kavanaugh, Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, won his race.”

Feinstein made a lousy decision last year that ultimately cost Democrats control of the Senate. And because elections have consequences, she must now pay the piper, as noted by social media:

And making Feinstein pay the piper appears to be exactly what Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham has in mind: “The committee will immediately begin working on these important nominations and trying to confirm as many as possible, as soon as possible,” he said last week regarding all of Trump’s nominees.

“I’m very supportive of the nominees submitted by President Trump to serve on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals,” he added this week. “These are highly qualified nominees and I am hopeful they will receive wide bipartisan support.”

Just to be clear, “wide bipartisan support” isn’t even needed in the first place since, first, Republicans boast the majority in the Senate, and second, two years ago Majority Leader Mitch McConnell followed former Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid’s lead and nuked the filibuster.

Again, elections have consequences, meaning Feinstein’s only option is to sit there and take it. Except she isn’t just taking it from the right — she’s also taking it from fellow leftists like failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s former spokesman, Brian Fallon.

Case in point:

And all because she desperately tried to smear Kavanaugh last year with a false sexual assault allegation. Apparently, bad decisions have consequences too.
