Bombshell emails uncovered by The Hill‘s John Solomon show that top DOJ and FBI officials under Barack Obama’s former FBI director James Comey engaged in a willful, organized scheme to defraud the FISA court in order to illegally spy on the 2016 Trump campaign.
“According to newly uncovered emails, we now know the basis for this [bogus FISA] warrant was the Clinton-bought and paid-for Dirty Dossier,” said Fox News host Sean Hannity. “James Comey — along with other top DOJ and FBI officials — knew the evidence presented in the dossier was shady.”
Despite their skepticism about the sham dossier, Obama holdovers in the FBI (under Comey’s direction) used the dossier to support their requests for FISA warrants in order to spy on Trump campaign aides, notably Carter Page.
The FBI also knew that the dossier’s author — discredited former British spy Christopher Steele — planted stories in the media in order to buttress the bogus claims made in the dossier, which was paid for by Hillary Clinton‘s 2016 campaign.
The FBI then used this circular reporting to bolster its sham FISA application in order to illegally spy on the 2016 Trump campaign.
The FBI never revealed to the FISA court that the dossier was paid for by Hillary’s camp and that the dossier’s author, Christopher Steele, passionately hated Donald Trump. Those are serious omissions. Sean Hannity summed it up:
“To recap, the FBI under President Obama got a warrant to spy on Trump campaign associate Carter Page at the height of the 2016 election. In order to achieve that, they presented the FISA court judge with ‘evidence’ that the FBI knew was sketchy and was not verified, and they themselves had doubts about.
They knew the ‘evidence’ was bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton. That was withheld from the FISA court judges.
The evidence was bolstered with the circular media reporting that the FBI knew Christopher Steele was behind.
[There’s now] smoking-gun evidence that the FBI — under James Comey’s leadership — committed a complete and total fraud on the FISA courts by presenting Hillary’s bought-and-paid-for Russian dossier as real intelligence.
And they hid the fact that the other ‘evidence’ was nothing more than circular reporting. They knew it all. The email chain shows it all.
The evidence shows a serious miscarriage of justice. A serious abuse of power. It should shock every American.”
Naturally, James Comey and Obama holdovers in the FBI who engaged in this fraud do not want this information to become public.
Why? Because it would confirm conspiracy theories about the existence of a leftist Deep State working behind the scenes to undermine a duly elected United States president — and therefore, subvert the will of the American people who voted him into office.
In February 2018, the panicked FBI (which still employs many Obama holdovers at its highest levels) reportedly sent five officials to the White House to lobby the Trump administration to stop the FISA memo from being made public.
Devin Nunes, the Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, slammed the FBI’s desperate ploy as evidence of more “stonewalling” by the agency to cover up the widespread surveillance abuses it had committed under Barack Obama.
Congressman Nunes said: “It’s clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”
